    Headlines after GA!!!!!!!!

High Flyin' Vols score 17 points but fall to the Dawgs 34-17.

    Is it too late

I remember when Tony Robinson went down. I thought it was all over. The next game against Georgia Tech, we tied them 6-6 on a last second field goal by Reviez. After that, they took the reins off Dickey and they scored a ton of points the last few games of the season. If we could only have...

    Clawson's expression said it all

I hate to pile on the guy but it has become apparent that he just isn't able to do the job for a team playing in the SEC. We need to make a change and let one of the younger guys play this year and get some experience so we might have a chance next year.

Proposed QB Change brings a small bit of excitement

I think the fumble was more Crompton's fault than it was Foster's. The running back is looking upfield for a place to run. The QB has to put it where the RB can get it. Crompton failed to do this. I think 90% of our trouble on offense rests at the feet of our QB.

    hit'em where it hurts

I bet the tickets outside the gate will be pretty cheap. I went to a game back in '88 when we started out 0-6, people couldn't give the tickets away. It is almost that bad now.

    Hey Hamilton, try this

I agree with what Ohio Vol is saying. We don't need to get rid of Coach Fulmer just to get rid of him. You have to be able to find somebody that is going to be better and give the program some hope to return to the national spotlight. That being said, it is becoming more and more evident that...

I almost can't visit the VN forums right now

It seems we've had some of our best years under Coach Fulmer and now some of our worst years. I think back to the 2001 SEC Championship game and look at that as the point it started go spiral downward. It seems we've not been the same program since then. :cray:

Losing to a 2nd/3rd string QB?

Not sure about the quarterback but I remember one year against Alabama we hurt the starting tailback early in the game and I think it was Siran Stacy came in and rolled over us with over 200 yards rushing. Pretty bad day that was.

Could you put up with 3-9 this year...

I can't root against my own team. We are just a mediocre program now and it is just something we have to face the reality of. 1998 seems like such a long time ago.......

Sept 1, 2008 - The day Volnation must finally accept reality.....

I couldn't understand why we were so determined to throw the ball. It was clear Crompton wasn't comfortable and Hadesty and Foster were running the ball well except for Foster's fumble. It seems we gave up on the run when it was working pretty well for us. Of course, on the bright side of...

The NEGAVOLS on here are the reason Bruce would leave if any

There's going to be some negativity after a tough loss. People are emotional. They care a great deal about UT and when things don't go as we would like them, people get upset and this is a way of venting. It will blow over in a few days and everybody will focus on Football season and then the...

    The saddest part is...

Yeah it's too bad it ended like this. I think we peaked playing at Memphis just like we did 2 years ago at Florida. After each of these highly emotional road wins, we sort of went in the tank and never recovered. It was a great year, just a disappointing ending.

..Which makes me have to wonder...

I don't think our problem last night was CBP's system as it was so many boneheaded turnovers by the players. That with terrible shooting will cause you to get beat in a lot of ballgames. Earlier this year we took great care of the basketball but lately our turnovers have been really high.

Stirring the pot on the Bama boards...

I agree we have no place to talk smack to Bama but what I can't understand is how they can look so great against us and then lose to Monroe!

Spurrier interested to see how Arkansas fares against Tennessee.

I think we can hold them to 300 yards rushing. I hope we can play a little ball control although that didn't help SC. I looked and there was more than a 6 minute time of possesion advantage for SC. Of course McFadden ran that last 80 yards in about 11 seconds. Let's hope we can hang on. :ok:
