Urban Meyer will never win a National Title without Tim Tebow.

I am sure Meyer can win with another qb, but Tebow does seem unique in the physical sense, at least for a quarterback. Help me out here. Has anyone ever seen a qb built like him before? He seems like Lance Armstrong in cycling, a freak of nature.

    Hire Our OC...PLEASE!!!

Christiansen already moved on and is now the Wyoming HC, I think.

    Officiating (merged)

The refs in the SEC are no different that other conferences and this game was won by better talent. The game exposes the players on the field and players win and lose games. My complaint this year is "where has all the talent gone?" Eric Berry played like a VOL and he was the only real stand out...

G Jones all but promises that Fulmer will be back next season

Do you think DC is surprised at the QB talent level at UT right now? He seems genuinely surprised that we don't have a QB that can master his offense. I know I would be if I were coming from his coaching level.

    Thoughts on Clawson (merged)

I had the impression watching the play calling at UCLA that Clawson may have been overwhelmed by the big game atmosphere. I don't know much about the guy, but I truly believe coaching in the SEC is a performance level that can be intimidating and humiliating. Success elsewhere does not...

What would everyone think of Gary Pinkel?

I would echo this analysis and add that Pinkel's defenses get tired because of the time they spend on the field. I read a ridiculous stat on MU that said they score about every 4.5 plays, or something obscene like that. I've watched Pinkel for that past four or five years and this year and last...

#1 on my Phil Fulmer replacement list:

Jim Leavitt. Started with Bill Snyder at K State. Coached with Mangino, Kansas HC, Bob Stoops, OKy HC, and Mike Stoops, Arizona or Ariz State HC. Very firey, but mentored will under Snyder. He knows how to build from scratch. USF cannot feed his ego enough to stay there forever. He could be...

    Heath Shuler vs. Peyton Manning

I watched Johnny Majors and every QB since. Peyton is far and away the most successful and studied, not to mention just plain entertaining. I saw Heath, too. He was great and I loved his magic, but I think he had leadership issues in the NFL that did not exist in college. Majors was a Heisman...

    Spread offense not all that.......

The Spread O leaves your defense on the field too long and requires a very deep receiver chart. You bust it with zone defense, crazy fast LBs, and stay-at-home discipline. Chase Daniels wan't touched all season and never close to being injured. Great selection and quick to commit. Sound like...

    Ainge will play on Sundays

Peyton spoiled every Vol fan to the point of ridiculous. I admit it. I'm totally spoiled when it comes to QBs. Ainge did nothing to help me get over it and he contributed to my basic desire for a better QB at Tennessee. They are out there, just not at UT. That hurts Fulmer and Cut. As for...

    No Heisman for Tennessee???

The ESPN Game Day guys dissed the UT fans over their reaction to Peyton losing that vote. Chris Fowler referred to us as Trailer Trash. In addition, I recall some kind of riff between Michigan coaches and Fulmer over his voting for Nebraska one year that resulted in UM being a disputed NC that...

    Curt Phillips interview today

I would echo the low interest in the Spread offense. I watched Mizzou use it this year and I hated it. It is asymetrical and good if you are a small fast team. Chase Daniels never once got under center for a sneak TD or a first down plunge by the tail back and that deficiency cost them dearly in...

    Thanks alot Phil and Erik

Seriouisly, coaches ought not to stay beyond a certain point IMO. Fresh is part of the cycle of renewal and getting rid of old stale bread, even though you might eat it (not me), is a good thing, not a bad thing. Phil is old and stale. Look how rapidly Nebraska has declined just trying to...
