The Golf Thread

At the driving range right now, and this is miserable. I fixed my grip but I can't seem to hit the ball right.

I thought I fixed it. My swing is what is bad I believe. Too inconsistent.
Let me offer this:
1) beating balls on the range accomplishes nothing if there’s a problem. You have to know what the problem is before it can be fixed. Range time should be used for improving the game & not for making it worse. So many people leave the range more frustrated than when they got there
2) get with somebody that can help you. It doesn’t have to be paid lessons, could be a friend that’s a good player. Some people are more comfortable working with someone they know. Be willing to listen & make changes. With change it takes time. One’s game usually goes backwards with change before going forward. Everyone has their on unique swing, which is fine but there are certain mechanics in the swing that has to be followed if you want to get better.
3) video is one of the best teaching tools, use it. Review your practice secession’s. Compare your swing to someone good & see how it matches up. Don’t get caught up trying to swing like such & such on tour. Learn from them.
If one wants to get better…practice & to be good….practice & study

Keep pushin

A muddy, windy, newly punched green, exhausting 84. Went 5-2. 2 par 3's were 200 into the wind today to elevated greens.
New irons saved me a few. Pretty pleased .

If any of you guys are around this area on business or whatever, you are welcome to come out and play. Hard course. I play during the week. We usually have 6 or so.

Will definitely keep this so I can look back at it. Thanks alot I appreciate it. I plan on getting with someone to show me to correct swing and mechanics.

Successfully changed all the grips on my irons. I don't know why I waited this long to do it myself.

One of my father-in-law's good friends has gotten us in to Sage Valley!!! I almost fainted when i got the news, I am so stoked!

I've been there many times. You can't go wrong with any of the state park courses in GA.
Played Little Ocmulgee @ McRae many times. Very nice & not difficult. Rattle snake warning at the box on hole 1 gets your attention

Just noticed that course will close 5.20.13 & reopen 8.19.13 for greens upgrade.

That's a fun little course. Fairly short (especially on the back) with monster greens makes for a good time.

You should try Brazell's Creek over at the state park in Reidsville.
