Which Mizunos?

jpx 825

I don't even know what that means to be honest. I wanted a change and I hit that particular stick better that others I looked at, and I hear good things about mizuno from some guys that hit the ball crisp.

My problem right now is that I am holding onto the release so tight, my left elbow hurts. It's pathetic. I don't know why I hold off on the release of the club. When I try to make sure to rotate, I'll come across it, but right now, I'm still square a foot after contact. Its an old bad habit is me not releasing and it rears it's ugly head again. I only think about it, when it's obvious I'm not doing it.

I'm not good enough for blades and I'm a little tired of the offset.

got some Mizunos. No longer using offset either, but they felt good.

What are you referring to as "offset"? Offset is how far the club face is set back from the front of the hosel.
The JPX-825 standard & pro models both have more offset than the X18 pros.
You talking about how much the face is opened or closed?

My bad if I'm using the wrong terminology, but I'm referring to the club face and the shaft. My old clubs had the clubface a little behind the shaft. I like the look and feel of the hosel in line with the shaft, rather than offset behind it.
These are the pro models, but are definitely set up differently than the Callaways.

I'll warn you right now, the first time you hit the course with those things, they'll drive you crazy trying to pick the right club. They're delofted a degree or two and those faces are flat out hot. It took me a couple of rounds to become a believer and buy into hitting it almost half a club longer. I had hot irons the same distances for 20 years.

If I hit it solid, I'll be fine. I fly over 1 green for every 20 I am short.
GA, what can I do about this release problem? When I dropped down to a low handicap over the winter, I didn't even think about it. Now, I feel like I need to force it over. Changed my grip a little, which feels terrible right now. I feel like I am holding it like furyk.
I think I may need to pull a Zach Johnson and get my right arm straight and turned over.

Muskgrove Mill round got postponed due to our member hookup having some issue. Gonna do Cateechee on the 15th instead.

I'm playing Sharks Tooth and Camp Creek next weekend.
Having a friend that bought a house in rosemary beach is going to pay off. Fly into pcb from Nashville for $100 quite often.

Lofts are same as the x18's he was hittin. Mizoo's look like they have a lighter head & the TTDL stock shafts are a lot lighter than the TTDG stocks on the Callie's. He'll be hittin bombs with em. Might even loose his foursome........poooowwwwwwww

Under no circumstances would I start screwing with my grip, arm positions etc without a pro's guidance. It's just going to make you correct somewhere else to make the same move.

A lot of the time when guys do what you're talking about, it's because they're trying to swing their hands and not the club in an effort to control ball flight and they really don't have a concept of what a release is even supposed to feel like. The only thing that should make your hands release is not your grip, your arm position or any type of extra effort, it's centrifugal force. Work on taking practice swings where you really feel the weight of the clubhead as it passes your hands at the bottom and let gravity work for you and trust it. You wouldn't have gotten down to single digits if you didn't have a pretty good idea how to swing it.

. . . and don't trust anybody that tries to give golf lessons over the Internet.

Where I got screwed up switching from x16s to JPX800s was that they were 2* less. I had to completely rework my wedges because the gap between PW and my old SW was 10*.

That all makes sense. I was fitted yesterday and we discussed the grip. I do have too much palm on it with my left hand, which would keep me from releasing, almost working like a wrist fusion.
I'm going to get there Friday and get back to basics with ball placement, relaxed grip and head still. I just need to hit one or 2 solid to get back in the groove. Every sport I have played, I am streaky as hell.
I think I still battle on old baseball habit. I was a late in the zone swinger and hit mostly up the middle or over 2nd base. I think that's still in my system sometimes, when I need to be turning over and taking it to left field.

Bummer on the MM but without the member can't do nothing. Was wantin a report from that bucketlist place. Cateechee private?

Maybe we'll get to do it another time. My buddy is a salesman so he's always getting hookups or tickets or something. He just told me to take the day off on the 15th & it was a really nice course & it's in Hartwell, GA. Not sure if its private or not.

If its natural, don't fight it. The meatheads searching for every yard hook it all costs. The scorers hit it straight, fade it or at least know how to.

CC, you ever play that state park over on the GA side of Lake Hartwell between Elberton and Hartwell. It's in the middle of nowhere and it is shockingly good.

No never played there. A bunch of us use to get together & hit a new course once a month or so within an hours drive but everybody just kinda stopped. There's plenty of courses in Greenville & Spartanburg so it's not all bad.

I've got customers in Greenville/Spartanburg. Other than the Clemson fans, I love it up there.

I've wanted to play them for a few years, but I usually stay in Destin, and haven't really wanted to drive all the way over to Panama City, so I usually go back and forth between the Raven, and Kelley Plantation (my favorite)...
Let me know what you think..I'll be down June 15th-23rd

I will. I haven't played in Florida in awhile. Everytime I go down there its with family and there is no room for my clubs. I love Kelly's plantation.
