He struggled at times with his swing for the entire tournament. During a critical time in the final round (holes 5-14) his ball striking was world class. When he went 2 shots down, he took it up a notch. The drives on 5,7,8,9,10,11, 13 and 14 were up to his standard. His iron play in that stretch was just as impressive. Rory is one of those rare players who can self correct in a big tournament to come out on top. Scottie was all over the place too, but he found a way to put himself in position. It's the reason why he has been the best player in the world for the last few years. Those characteristics are separators that are common for the 2-3 handfuls of the best players of all time.
