You may well be right, but at the end of the day, we have another 6-5 or 6-6 post (Williams) who may be 6-4 the way Barnes measures them and a 6-7 skinny kid who is more suited to the perimeter (Fulkerson), when this team needed size more than anything. Now, Barnes may get size in the Spring, but he has a jammed up roster as the result of committing two scholarships in the Fall to kids who didn't address the fundamental size deficiency.

I don't think Barnes accidentally jammed up the roster. He's said that he likes to have a roster full of interchangeable parts and that is certainly what he is putting together.

care to elaborate?

The poster Kasongor claims to be Kasongo's older brother (although his UT bio makes no mention of that). KasongBro says that Barnes lied to the family and they have more offers than Taylor Swift has marriage proposals to take his skills elsewhere on his road to the NBA.

If Kasongo was producing effort and being productive on the practice court he would be playing more in the games. There is a reason why Kasongo did not start in Jr. College and only played 16 mins a game there. There is a reason why he is not playing now. If he does not change, he will never smell the NBA. I hope he sees that and changes his attitude and works hard so he can have a future in basketball.

We don't know that there's anything wrong with Kasongo's attitude. He might also be working very hard in practice. It could be that he just hasn't developed enough to contribute at this level. The poster Kasongor certainly has an attitude though.

I can say, kasongo got pissed at Armani yesterday during the layup line for bumping k to him, they had words, but nothing came of it.

It was the other way around. Kasongo bumped into Armani on accident during lay up lines, and Armani looked aggravated to say the least.

It wasn't a big deal tho

From where I was sitting it looked like it was ray who was upset, but I didn't really get a clean view.

What are your thoughts here BTO? Are we close to offering yet?

The way things appear to be trending with the Hubbs news and now this you'd have to think the odds are increasing. Kasongo and Hubbs leaving leaves 3 open spots, 2 for bigs and 1 for Bowden, talk about a complete roster overhaul.

I dont think I have ever seen a complete overhaul on a roster such as this one. I hope we can land Omer and another quality big either by being a grad transfer or hs kid. Bowden is looking more and more like a take as well

More and more schools are looking at him. At some point, he's gonna get an offer that makes everyone a believer in this kid. He's legit.

I'm hoping UT offers tonight.

I would like to see a big offer, Kansas and UCONN have been in to see him and haven't offered, South Carolina has viewed him multiple times and also hasn't pulled the trigger. I like his game and typically a local kid will bust his a$$, he's also physically ready as well IMO, would be a solid addition on the wing.

Marquette and Utah are nothing to sneeze at

My point simply was he's had some big schools come in, I believe Texas was also one, and they obviously weren't blown away. That's not to say he's not a good player, I just am not sure HOW good of a player he is, that's obviously why Lanier is going to watch him tonight. Is he the kind of kid we just don't have in this class? We can't go on without? Or is he similar to what we've already got, that's what the staff has to decide obviously.

We've had wings out the yazoo since Pearl left.
If we don't start pulling in some quality bigs for next season, Barnes#2 will be as bad as Barnes#1.

A few months ago some were arguing Xavier and Villanova were both mid majors.

I think it's high time we completely drop that label in college hoops

It's kind of irrelevant now. Maybe needs to always be modified as high, mid, and low mid-majors. Gonzaga and the Big East have been as competitive as the best teams of any Power 5 conference.

Very irrelevant for sure

Maybe it makes sense to move a couple of conferences up to the major designation with the P5s. The Big East isn't a mid-major. The AAC is probably above mid-major and the A10 is close. There are a few with a really good team or two but with the rest of the conference as garbage... like the WCC. Gonzaga is worthy of moving up and possibly St. Mary's, but the bottom half aren't close to being significant and probably never will be. So there are actually mid-major teams and mid-major conferences.
