Recruiting Discussion

Maybe it makes sense to move a couple of conferences up to the major designation with the P5s. The Big East isn't a mid-major. The AAC is probably above mid-major and the A10 is close. There are a few with a really good team or two but with the rest of the conference as garbage... like the WCC. Gonzaga is worthy of moving up and possibly St. Mary's, but the bottom half aren't close to being significant and probably never will be. So there are actually mid-major teams and mid-major conferences.

I agree that was my argument that day we were discussing this that the big east has to be a major conference in hoops

All to see the one kid that has been under our nose all along?

You're showing your anti-Barnes bias here. If we had offered any earlier, you'd be ripping him for pursuing another guard, and a lowly-ranked one at that.

We offer late in the process, and you passively chastise him for waiting too long to offer a kid who has been under our nose the whole time.

Do you not see how that looks?

I don't blame him here. Sorry the post sounds that way

Sounds like a kid blew up out of nowhere

I just hope we didn't piss him off Because he was right under our nose

If anything we got ourselves some brownie points by contacting him months ago, bringing the parents on campus to explain our situation, and inviting the kid to as many games as he'd like to attend. Sounds to me like the staff did some preliminary work on this one in case numbers worked out.

Lmao cmon ziti, you criticize the Fulkerson kid who similar things happened with, now you're doing the polar opposite it seems?

See my last post on this

It's amazing this kid has blown up like this

Many times when something like this happens the home team that didn't offer is perceived by the prospect as being the bad guy while the other schools have an excuse for not recruiting sooner

My post was more about what hopefully isn't his reaction to us offering.

No problem. Fair assessment, and to be fair, our situation seems to have changed rather quickly too. Someone else is leaving it appears.
