And has not had a game plan for him. Not taken near as many practice reps with 1st string as jg. Shrout has not played enough to know what he can do, but we know what jg can do best and that is lose the game.

Im certain he has been "coached" pretty hard this week about folloiwng the play call as directed. He wont soon forget these lessons.

And while i hope whomever plays does great i cant understand why anyone expects the 3rd string guy to perform at a level that would allow us to win.

Start Shrout and leave him in, period. Put the weight of this game on our OL, running backs, and defense. Give Shrout throws to keep the d honest and mix in some uptempo wildcat formations and quick screens. Use chump''s aggressive d to our advantage when possible. That's the way I see it from my couch.

I don't understand so many saying jg is pruitts only choice. Have they looked at record this year, with jg as starter 1 win. Seems to me a very easy choice, jg with only 1 win as starter, Shrout with little to no game expierience, so you go with a known loser or someone who may light it up, start shrout and if makes too many early mistakes use jennings if u are gona primarily run anyways, and then as a last resort use jg. But I am afraid jg will get the start as bad as I hate it.

#18 was 3rd string and his 1st game he didn't look good but he was starting to look really good just the dang injury bug has bitten him. I would go with 12 he has potential.

I certainly don't expect jg to perform at a level to allow us to win he hasn't in going on 3 years thats for sure. He will be the same jg we have seen over and over again.

If we have any player on the field who thinks they can't win with JG name them. If the Players,Coaches, staff, are for JG playing it's very puzzling to me why the so called fans can't get behind him. If we have any so called fans who boo any player they are punks who know nothing about the game and don't deserve to be associated with Tennessee.
I believe true fans are part of the team and if they are not 100% behind that team they are the ones going rogue.

As far as the blunder by JG there is not a person on here who knows what actually transpired on that play. So here's a novel idea for a fan, root for JG if he gets in the game.

There’s no doubt that Shrout has the ability he just needs reps. Jennings and DWA can give him that given the right calls

Because you don't know your chances with him.... but do know your chances are nil with JG.

A few weeks ago Pruitt and Chaney said that neither Maurer or Shrout had separated themselves from one another. Later an announcer said that Pruitt gave the nod for the #2 job to Maurer simply because he was a better runner. If Shrout is 80% as good as Maurer has been... he's better than JG.
