Per Austin Price - expect Shrout to get the nod tomorrow

Sounds simple enough and probably only thing you can do with Shrout at this time. Unfortunatelly this is also exactly what Muschamp is expecting and getting ready for.
The question our staff is probably asking is whether JG actually could finally turn things around - it may not seem likely but that is the dilemma (if JG is by some miracle able to turn it around then Chaney has the full playbook available which is huge when you go against defensive specialist like Muschamp).

That’s how Pruitt painted himself into a corner with the Maurer injury If it’s extended or not. I don’t think he trusts JG but at some point he may not have any choice.

I don’t think he’ll have a breakthrough game at this point. He’s continuing to regress and is now doing the same in practice. Yes, he had a “better” day yesterday but he’s still wildly inaccurate and unpredictable. You can’t put JG out there because that kills the team imo.

So all of you who want JG to be run out on a rail want to lose just for revenge? I think will be a cold day in hell before JG does something like that again. If he is the best option to get a win then he should play. I would hate to lose just to prove a point.

If he wasn’t going to continue to play his way why didn’t he have a great day at practice Monday? When reality is he had the worst day of all the QB and even that’s being nice.

It’s time to wake up and face facts: he tried to be the hero and it went bad fast. With the comments from other players I’m still shocked there wasn’t a fight after the game.

Revenge? For what?

Link? I didn't think so...

Crazy, there are so many assumptions surrounding Shrouts ability! The kid has only attempted 10 passes this season coming off the bench. TN has never schemed a game plan around him nor has he seen the field much. I am not saying he is gonna be lighting it up nor am I gonna say he will completely suck. Just taking an objective wait and see approach and hope for the best. I am willing to bet many opinions on BM have changed over the last few weeks. The bottom line is we need someone other than JG and there is nothing wrong with being optimistic about Shrout until we have a complete body of work that says otherwise.

We NEED to get one far downfield early to keep them on their heels. Cant gash them running if they have no fear of our deep threat. Coaches dont even bother to call those for JG so even mid is loaded with defenders.
i agree, I'm not saying avoid it altogether, just be very nit picky and selective on when to do it, and don't do it more than necessary. Keeping a defense honest is critical in any aspect of the passing game.

According to a comment Pruitt made to the announcers in one of the recent games... it had been a pattern with JG this year. He had apparently changed other plays for no good reason. I heard them say this BEFORE his play vs Bama.

If he's the best option to win then UT's hopes of winning are very, very slim. From a distance and without the information the coaches obviously have, I would try the unknown before trying the known that is almost sure to fail.

As of now, not suppose to rain till after the game. Just a slight chance. I think you will see three very conservative run plays when we come out and see what they are doing. If they press our receivers hard and load the box so we don't move the ball, then our next possession after another run on first down, watch for a double move bomb. If we connect, then the game is on.

I expect Shrout will start the game and play 75% +. We are going to dominate the line of scrimmage both ways and win this game on the way to becoming bowl elig.

I expect Shrout will remain starter rest of reg. season to heal up Maurer.

When Kennedy made those comments I thought for sure VN was gonna blow up with reports Of fights but it never happened.

I’d like to give our freshman tackle a big shout out for dominating the end on that play turning him out and creating the hole

I’d crap my pants if Jauan ran an RPO against my defense
That's what I'm saying kid was recruited as a QB before the switch to receiver, he's the toughest runner we've got, and SC will NEVER expect it, even if you run it and they start keying on it, then just switch to Shrout, I think we can start the game with Jennings and maybe turn the confusion and unpreparedness from the SC defense into a couple scoring drives and then send out JT to play and settle into the game.

I would like to see JJ get 10 snaps at QB and run wildcat/RPO. Give him an easy throw option to keep the D honest.

Still will be more threat with shrout. They know jg not throwing unless have to and that gets too predictible
Hard to know that for sure. Weve seen JG play in meaningful games. Cant say the same for Shrout. He may turn in a Peterman like performance for all we know.
