John Currie

My question is...how does Davenport still have a job? She is directly responsible for hiring and firing Currie. There is no telling how much that will end up costing us before it's all said and done. She did the bidding of Fulmer, once Fulmer had a couple of boosters in his pocket, by nixing the Brohm and Leach deals. The only thing she cares about is pleasing boosters. To hell with the players, alumni, or fans. She should be forced to take a lard bath with Fulmer every day for the rest of her tenure.

Coach Majors, let go of the past. Fulmer was just a better coach than you, it’s that simple.

Is he really the bad guy? It’s been reported that Fulmer was sabotaging everything Currie tried to do and I’m starting to think that was true.

Is it possible that Fulmer wanted to hire Schiano (it was said Peyton was supportive of this as well) and Currie made sure that didn’t happen to try and save his job and please the fan base?

Currie then tried to hire Brohm and Leach (both of which the fan base would have approved of), and Fulmer torpedoed then because “he wanted a defensive guy.”

The UTAD then fires Currie and uses him as a scapegoat for their ineptitude, and let Fulmer Hire his defensive guy under the guise of “having a UT blooded leader looking out for our best interests.”

Seems to me that Currie went rogue and was trying to make a good hire and everyone in the admin opposed. For the record I would have taken Leach or Brohm over Pruitt. Both are proven head coaches and they would have torched the SEC EAST with elite offenses.

Flame on but I think Fulmer is the enemy and the fan base was duped again. Only time will tell.

Be gone before someone drops a house on you.

I suggest you go find another place to spew your stupidity! Some people with the nerve to get on here and talk such ignorance. Get him out of here!

Come on V4G, you know the anti- Pruitt crowd was getting old. Needed new fodder.

Fulmer has been calling prospective coaches, warning them against taking the UT job ever since his firing. Fulmer is the party most responsible for the decline of Tennessee football. He wanted UT to fail to show Hamilton, Currie, and company made a mistake firing him.

Fleece, you couldn't have a better supporter. Well maybe D4H..... just sayin.

Fulmer is big. He's huge. But he's not bigger than the university or it's students, alumni, and fans. Stop your idol worship and open your eyes. Fulmer is the architect of this disaster.

David Cutcliffe’s doesn’t even show that. Pretty good coach. :)

Cutcliffe went to Alabama and was injured his freshman year. He cam to Tennessee as a tight ends coach. He worked his butt off and developed into a pretty solid coach. Cut was also 3 years older when he first became a head coach and his whole career until he went to Duke was in the SEC. Butch was only involved with a BCS school for the first time when he was hired at Tennessee. No comparison whatsoever!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m familiar dude. Didn’t even need Google since I was a Vols fan pre-search engine. Cut wasn’t good enough to play college football. Had nothing to do with him as a coach. Butch played football and couldn’t sniff Cut as a coach. Nothing means nothing.

Fulmer loves posts like this. He has enjoyed every moment of Tennessee's struggles. He has gloated for years about how he was about to get it all fixed. Haven't you heard? He had Taj Boyd on the hook.

The truth is...the saboteur-in-chief is now in charge of the AD. His first order of business was to hire a coordinator, not a coach. Fulmer intends to run the football prograam himself. That's why the Austin Taylor deal never got done and why Fulmer himself was on the road recruiting. Fulmer thinks he's bigger than UT, and so does the poster above and about 30 to 40% of the fan base, most of whom are 60 or older.

I am curious, but why is it that you can never provide any proof of what you claim?

Please post your evidence of Fulmer being the “architect of this disaster”. Evidence, not opinions, hearsay, etc.

Anybody got an idea on the over/under between now and September 1st on the total number of "I have absolutely no facts to back this up, but I just wanted to make some crap up and post it" threads we see?

Going to be a long 8 months.

Go Vols.

Currie was a bad hire and people at K-State were ecstatic when UT hired him. His handling of both the firing of CBJ and the attempted hiring were a joke!!!

Ya'll do know that Bill Snyder banned him from ever coming to his office. That is a real AD that can't even talk to his HFC!!!!!
