I’m wondering why the friend was checked for a license as well. Is that standard protocol?

Imagine what it will be like when these 18,19 year old kids start getting paid to play! $$$$$ In their pockets! Driving expensive cars! Our campuses will not be safe! I can see players telling coaches you need to talk to my agent and renegotiate my $ if you want me to play on special teams!

When someone is arrested and calls someone to pick up their car in lieu of it being towed, it’s SOP for police to confirm that the person picking it up has a valid license. Watch Live PD on A&E the next time it’s on. You’ll see a lot of that.

Banks shouldn't be kicked off the team. He should do several hours of ride-along.

However, Memphis should be kicked out of the state of Tennessee. Let Arkansas have it. Or the bottom of the Mississippi.

Uhhhh the cops can’t let the friend simply drive off in Banks (or whoever’s) car if he/she doesn’t have a valid license.

Also a cop can ask to see your drivers licenses anytime.........that doesn’t mean you have to show it to them........obviously this guy did, and now he knows if he didn’t already.

Correct, but folks like allvol123 just look for reasons to call cops stupid. The cop could have impounded his car, but tried to do Banks a favor, and this is how the cop is repaid.....our idiot coach trying to get him out of an arrest warrant instead of teaching him to be accountable for his actions, Banks trying to be a badass talking about shooting cops and folks like allvol123 calling the cop stupid and saying he should apologize to Banks..

Why not. If I call a person, the person arrives, I verify that is the person I called and am ok with them driving my car, then there really is no reason for the cop to be asking that person anything. But, they are cops, have to harass people.

It depends. If it is Greenback or Halls and little copper pulls over his former buddy from high school then all is swept under the rug. But the police love a guy like Banks. I've spent enough time around some shooting sh$$ in private to know.

The traffic is worse in Bham than Memphis. On a per capita basis, Bham is a bigger hellhole than Memphis. Suburbs are nice though.
