I have worked at a department for 25 years and have always been told if it’s a mother of 3 or someone on hard times give them a warning. Never has money been brought up once. Unless it was for their benefit.

And I respect LEOs and am 100% pro-police, but all cops are humans... many are honest and good and some are crooked. My point was specifically highlighting how kids that age perceive (accurately or not) the cops in college towns, which many LEOs in big college towns are playing this game.

I hear what your saying but we don’t consider campus police real policing although that should probably change with society today. They may be that way. My only contact with them is mtsu and vanderbilt

The lump statement is what caught my intention. Of course there are bad folks in every profession. How many great postal workers do their job but get told when they walk up to a mailbox oh lord he’s gonna go postal and kill us? Again The lump statements bother me. I legitimately try to help people it’s my sole goal everyday I go to work. I don’t like arresting people I don’t like writing tickets. Life is hard enough. Help people make life better if we all did that it would be a better place

I bet Mike Leach would have understood that if you need legal advice on the court process, it's probably best to go to one of the numerous lawyers available to the University, and to not rely on a state trooper's advice on something he has little to no knowledge of.
