Hard to say what JJJ should do. I don't think he's athletic enough to play in the NBA at the 1-2 spots, nor is he big enough to guard the 3-4 position. He can go overseas and make a good living. Does he decide to do it after this year or the next is the question?

As often as he is injured, if he’s somewhat healthy at the end of this year he needs to grab any contract he can.

He might make a better coach than a professional player somewhere.

Let's not get too crazy here. He may never be a NBA All-Star, but JJJ is still a very, very good basketball player. Even if he doesn't catch on in the league, he can easily make $10+ million playing overseas for a while.

He can coach at any point and using Barnes as a reference point is dumb. Most coaches don't see anywhere remotely close to $5mil. He only has about 10 years left of playing career. Stop being ridiculous.

As for your dig on his health, he's played 32, 25, and 27 games the last 3 seasons. He doesn't remotely have a problem with missing games. Take your whining elsewhere.

Sorry, but JJJ absolutely has endured more health troubles than the average player as every season he has been rehabbing / managing injuries that have resulted in missing games. Most guys stay fairly healthy but a small percentage aren’t so lucky. Think back to our recent guys who stick around 3-4 years. Other than Turner who battled shoulder issues, JJJ seems to have the most physical challenges in the Barnes era. Still a great player!

You can disagree with me all you want, but please at least use an argument that involves some info. I quoted his games played over the last 3 seasons. I also stated he doesn't often miss games. If you want to say he's often less than 100%, fine, but that's moving the goal posts.

If JJJ left UT, he'd have a 9 or 10 figure contract (outside the US) within a month. Insinuating he's never healthy and should grab a clipboard is beyond ridiculous. Is he the most durable guy ever? No. But labeling him as always hurt or made of glass is just simply not accurate. He played 32 games in the SEC just last season. Give the guy (our guy by the way) a bit of a break.

Now? It was pretty apparent watching last year. Aidoo actually did something. I am a Barnes homer, but playing BHH over Aidoo was always a mistake.

He hasn't really progressed at all, he's just playing more minutes. He's averaging less points, rebounds, and blocks per 40 minutes compared to last year also with a lower FG% and 3P%. He is averaging more steals and assists, with less fouls.

He has a -5.1 overall rating compared to a -1.3 last year (the difference between offensive rating and defensive rating). This is all to say, the grass isn't always greener. Would you rather be coming off a B4A championship after beating the #3 team and defending national champion, or not having a single wing a month into the season? Tough call.

Totally agree. We have had a bunch of players transfer in to the program and transfer out of the program in the last few years, which is fairly typical in the current landscape of college basketball.

This thread seems more about ridiculing BHH for having the nerve to leave UT and for his less than stellar play so far at Louisville. As for me, I wish BHH nothing but the best but I also realize that UT basketball is going to be just fine without him.

Should stay another year then become a graduate assistant under coach Rick Barnes and then in 5 years take over the program
