Dooley should have beat LSU in his first year but didn't.
Dooley beat Cincy when he played Jones with this talent we see on the field now.
Jones almost beat UGA (minus two of their best O players). We did beat SC with a great play by North but every other competitive game has been a blowout and now we are seeing the team flat out give up.
I love the energy Jones brings, the cute slogans etc. but lets be honest....Dooley would have fared just as well this year. We see the exact same level of intensity that Dooley produced with pretty much the exact same results.
When SEC rivals set new records against team 117 it is not improvement. We simply have not improved one iota under Jones and it has me concerned that this turn around (if we are having one) is going to be a lot longer than many of us have the stomach for.
Fire away...
Auburn won 3 games last year.
It is more than "our guys are faster than your guys"
Walk-ons....at nickel back. We have played at least 5 top ten teams. Keep it up.
I don't know how long many of the posters on this site are but I suspect the average age to be about 25. I have a bit more time watching Tennessee football and I can tell you that even during Majors growing pains the team was almost always competitive.
Have I denied there were talent issues? No. Have you answered the challenge that there are also coaching issues? No.
UT's players getting physically beaten does not really bother me. It is the evidence of a lack of coaching. Guys are making the same mistakes. They aren't player their responsibilities. Guys are getting whipped and not being replaced.
Has anyone suggested they had to win games against top 5 teams? I believe all we have asked is that they look better than a mid-major or FCS team against those teams.
But all we hear from some of you is excuses and evasion. Keep it up.
Majors 1st few seasons were terrible and for the longest time he struggled to get a team that was half good..losing to teams like Rutgers at homecoming and how about that 81 season where they opened up with losses to UGA 44-0 and USC 43-7?.....Took him a while to get players who could compete with teams like that and honestly he STILL under achieved most of the time...He was the master of barely beating a team or beating a good team and losing to a team with a losing record the following week and he ALWAYS had good talent.
Dooley would not have beaten SC, so we would be 3-7 right now staring directly down the barrel of this program's first ever 8 loss season.
Go check the recruiting forum, you will feel better. Dooley would not have put that class together.
Replaced with what? Where is all of this talent that they will get replaced with? Nobody is giving excuses we are giving people like you facts but you just refuse to accept them.

yes it is. they are better FOOTBALL players. way more than just speed. plus they want to win whereas the tn players dont seem to care.
thats not really about coaching. that desire comes long before they ever get to college. most should have never been recruited
Let me get this straight. A team goes from a 3 win season (0 in the SEC) to 9-1 in one year shocking the nation and it is because they suddenly found all this talent and speed they never knew they had.
Meanwhile another team gets an upgrade in coaching (supposedly) and the team, particularly the defense doesn't move an inch?
Something doesn't add up.
