Any better than Dooley?

I never agreed with the Dooley hire from the beginning, but I think CBJ is leagues better. I think 118 is miles ahead of where we were last year, and where the Dooley teams were. We just have babies on the field that need growth. It sucks, but the hard truth is that we need time. They were just in high school last year, or if not, they never had real playing time. You can't reasonably expect them to be SEC caliber yet. That is delusional.

I know a lot of people are tired of the "morale" victory, after today's loss, I didn't want to hear it either, but 6 hours later the fact remains that the "morale victory" argument is still valid. There are a lot of positives can be found from this game and things to build on.

Jones got to shoot fish in a barrel with the 2014 class due to the unprecedented amount of legacy and in state talent. Dooley wouldn't have signed a lot of those guys because they knew he was not turning the program around. For now Jones is still recruiting well but he's got to start winning if it's going to continue.

I don't know how long many of the posters on this site are but I suspect the average age to be about 25. I have a bit more time watching Tennessee football and I can tell you that even during Majors growing pains the team was almost always competitive.

I know I'm above average myself, not to brag or anything

Butch is only two years into fixing the absolute TRAIN WRECK started by Piffin, and furthered by Fooley. It was years in the making and nobody short of the Lord himself will make it better sooner. Period....Another year or so and we should be back in the hunt BUT!!! we really could use a stud QB. And I just don't see one on the roster....yet.

I go back to when Doug Dickey was prowling the sidelines. I remember the Majors era, well. All it amounted to was a higher level of mediocrity. If I remember right, Majors teams were so competitive they got walked over by the likes of North Texas and Rutgers (when it was still on the level of Carson-Newman). I like nostalgia as much as anyone, but I miss Majors like I would miss a bad case of clap.

The offensive product we put on the field today looked like the team that played UK in 2011. We certainly weren't outplayed-- our offense just didn't show up.

Dooley should have beat LSU in his first year but didn't.
Dooley beat Cincy when he played Jones with this talent we see on the field now.

Jones almost beat UGA (minus two of their best O players). We did beat SC with a great play by North but every other competitive game has been a blowout and now we are seeing the team flat out give up.

I love the energy Jones brings, the cute slogans etc. but lets be honest....Dooley would have fared just as well this year. We see the exact same level of intensity that Dooley produced with pretty much the exact same results.

When SEC rivals set new records against team 117 it is not improvement. We simply have not improved one iota under Jones and it has me concerned that this turn around (if we are having one) is going to be a lot longer than many of us have the stomach for.

Fire away...

You're trolling or a total moron.

Dooley recruited CoachZookJones' starting QB, going on two years in a row

Your point? He ain't exactly Peyton or Casey or Tee or Andy Kelly or T-Rob.

Right now he is in the Todd Helton, AJ Suggs tier

Malzahn and CZJ have had exactly the same amount of time to bring in the QB of choice for their respective systems.

What tier is Nick Marshall in?
