2025 SEC WBB tourney

Cool "rumor" and I'm sure you have good sources within VU rather that making stuff up. However Jaylen Blakes has already played three years at Duke and is playing a fourth at Stanford. Are you thinking he'll be finishing a grad program even with his eligibility used up?

Funny how Mikayla signed to play at Vanderbilt rather than Duke or Stanford, but Jaylen didn't transfer to Vanderbilt. You'd think maybe she'd have discussed plans with him beforehand if that was her goal rather than ending up in Nashville wondering how she got there. Hmmm... it's very mysterious.

UConn presently has a head coach, but apparently Geno and Shea are even worse at coordinating than Mikayla and Jaylen.
Delurk upvote! When ya bring it, ya bring it! 😉 🤙🏼

No idea. Just relaying what I’ve heard from someone fairly close to the Vandy program.

They shot a pitiful 55% overall and 45% from three with 17 assists.
Congratulations to the players but know this, Championship teams don’t blow 25 point leads in tournament games. You can try to justify that but they needed that last 5 minutes (and officiating) badly……. Good luck to them tomorrow. You can proceed with your gloating now. That’s what you do.

They won by 21. Either way, your remark seemed unduly harsh, that’s what you do. 84 points is hardly pitiful.

As for championship teams, I saw this same SC blow a few 20+ point leads last year as well but it seemed to work out ok in the end. One thing I know that championship teams do however is hold their opponents to below 40% shooting and close strong.

SC blew a 20 point lead in last years SEC tournament as well which I am sure you remember. It happens when you play ten, not all of the lineups click. This SC team has flaws, and won’t be a favorite to win it all this year, but they are not pitiful in any area of the game. Peace.

Factual (IMO) not harsh. You are normally overly sensitive to anything you perceive as negative to your team. Kinda ironic since this forum is dedicated to LADY VOL athletics.

Fair enough, I accept your thoughts on my sensitivity. However, Factual by your standards doesn’t pass the smell test. You said “their offense is pitiful, as usual.” And yet they led the conference in shooting % and were second in the conference for SEC games in scoring at 81.33 ppg, less than a point behind Oklahoma who was #1. Explain how you describing that as pitiful is factual. If you are right, the other 14 SEC teams were all worse than pitiful. Is this alternative facts world?

Drop the shovel, the hole is already too deep.

Whatever. Fight, fight, fight is all you want to do. Unless you are a total idiot, you would know I don’t care anything about chicken statistics. I go with the eye test and that test tells me they are an average coached team relying on their overwhelming talent to bulldoze teams into submission. Seen it happen a lot in my lifetime. Feel free to have the last word. You do that well.

Thank you Rickster. Your eye test needs some scope adjustment however. I backed up your “pitiful offense” claim with actual facts to the contrary (anyone can look up the conference stats, it’s not magic). You came back with your eye test which said the stats lie. Really, just let it go, your hole is as deep as it needs to be.

I bet you never claimed UT was an average coached team relying on superior talent in Pat’s heyday. UT had the pick of the litter in those days. That wasn’t a slight to Pat’s great coaching, it was part of her greatness, coaches need to be able to recruit great as well as coach great. And that was before WBB became more competitive across the board. But you throw that insult out easily today. Again, Peace, but you make some ludicrous claims Rickster. If anything, it is harder to do today when athletes can hop around freely.

11-9 Texas early..

*** update: 17-9 Texas, who is pressing OM..

** 23-17 Texas end of first, Texas employing a press, their defense is so good.

** 40-33 Texas at half…one note, both bigs for Texas, Oldacre and Jones have 3 fouls. Also, Texas is using the press only strategically now. Booker showing out.

** 47-38, Texas, 5 min left in 3rd, OM cannot penetrate the Texas defense in post. Texas defense is stifling, and OM defense is pretty good also as usual but they struggle with perimeter offense.

** 53-40 Texas late in third. Texas one of the best defensive teams in the nation, OM cannot find shots against them. Jones has 4 fouls now however. Rebels 8 minutes without a field goal.

Looks like Texas will bleed them out slowly but surely. Texas came into the SEC ready for the defense first mantra that the conference is built upon. Vic has trained them well. OM shooting 17%.

** OM still fighting, 59-49 TX, 6 min left, OM is so offensively challenged against this D however. Texas offense nothing to write home about either, but give credit to OM defense.

** 63-60 Texas, 3 minutes left, KK deans got hot from 3.

** 67-62 Texas, 35 seconds left, Tx ball, both teams in bonus

** 70-63 Longhorns, final.

Morrow ended the night 36/14. With 3 steals. Best all around player in the SEC, she was defensive POY also btw.
