Interviewing? What for? Her resume is open source material, her years at UT and NCSU sum up everything a school needs to see. Let go twice from the P4 level, her next stop will not be another P4 job. I don't know why some on here cannot wrap their brain around simple stuff like this.Could be interviewing for Auburn
I think maybe a S.C. fan is dragging a beloved LVFL (and LV fans) just a little too hard here.Interviewing? What for? I'm not dragging anything or anyone. I made a simple declaration that P4 schools do not hire HC's that have been fired from their previous two P4 jobs. It's just common sense stuff. Could you imagine the outcry from fans and alumni if their AD hired someone who was fired at their last two stops at this level?I think maybe a S.C. fan is dragging a beloved LVFL (and LV fans) just a little too hard here.
Of course, but so was everyone else there all day. Only reason it registered with me at all was I was thinking earlier about her being on a new job (covering the SECT) and doing a great job so far ... and then the optics of her being the only one to need to beg off for the last segment stood out. Also, she has a husband. Why would she need to leave her new job to check on the kids? She was onset since 11 am! Maybe had to pee, eat dinner, check on her kids? They often change up personnel.
You low-key did, and you questioned the intelligence of posters here.I'm not dragging anything or anyone. I would rather see Kellie Harper take a Mid Major job to resurrect her career than take a crappy P4 job that isn't going anywhere. Yes I'm talking about Auburn at the moment..Or a major who just wants a decent placeholder and isn't willing or able to invest in their program.
I pray she would never take such a job.
Anyone who suggests she is/may be interviewing for a P4 HC job needs their intelligence questioned.
I'd just hate for Kellie to end up in a situation that only confirms her 'meh-ness' as a P4 coach. But if she's ok w it I guess go for it.All about expectations and money your willing to invest. She did a decent job at Tennessee 106 and 51. SEC she was 53 and 24. For some schools that is huge success. It would be huge success at Auburn who has less than 25 wins in the SEC in that same time period. A lot of people can look at the Tennessee totals and see success. Because of Pat Summitt they are not success at Tennessee and nothing over 4 or 5 losses and final fours ever will be.
You don't think Kim is not in the roasting pot. Already seeing a lot of negative comments and this is season one. A season that when she got here had five players on the roster and one was in the portal.
JMO but I rather have a person like Kellie Harper at Auburn than that Q guy former Syracuse coach. I don't know what they are looking for. Do they just want a winning record maybe make the NCAA most of the time. She could give them that. Do they want to go for it all? If so better get the big money out only way it is going to happen and even then the competition is going to be tremendous.
This isn't the boneyard, and you are not Husky nan. Be thankful of both points.I just think there's a line that opposing fans who are posting as guests on a Lady Vols fan forum should try not to cross, and I'll point it out when an outsider -- even a typically good one -- crosses it.
If Lady Vols fans on the Lady Vols board want to suggest that LVFL Kellie Harper might be hired at a P4, that's your cue to shut up. Lady Vols fans will take care of shooting people down if that needs to happen. Not your place.
It will be up to her but it seems like some are trying to say in a round about sort of way that she is not qualified. She is qualified for a P4 if the expectations are not to high if they are on a low budget. I'm not saying she is interested in any job she might really like the one she has. She was not terrible at Tennessee other than recruiting. She couldn't get the players was way to ambitious on the scheduling, but really got the most out of what she had. If she could've gotten the players I think she would've been successful here.I'd just hate for Kellie to end up in a situation that only confirms her 'meh-ness' as a P4 coach. We'll see, but maybe she is happy where she is. She's almost 48 yrs old, and her kids are now the age where they have their own games, etc she might want to be around for.It will be up to her but it seems like some are trying to say in a round about sort of way that she is not qualified. She gets some place where they are willing to help with Nil and get her some players she can run a really competitive program and if I were her that would have to be a part of it for me to even consider another P4 job. She won some games with less talent over Texas one season and over SC and almost over SC again in the tourney the game I believe that got her fired.
Just me I would keep the ESPN job it is a no stress position sure it pays enough to make ends meet and seems like a lot of fun. Coaching can be hell especially with the over expecting fan bases of 2025.We'll see, but maybe she is happy where she is. She's almost 48 yrs old, and her kids are now the age where they have their own games, etc she might want to be around for.
I wondered yesterday if being in the fun atmosphere of the tourney without the crushing pressure she felt last yr was really fun for her. OTOH, maybe she missed the competition. We'll see.
Cool "rumor" and I'm sure you have good sources within VU rather that making stuff up. However Jaylen Blakes has already played three years at Duke and is playing a fourth at Stanford. Are you thinking he'll be finishing a grad program even with his eligibility used up?Don’t be so sure. There are rumors around Vandy that Blakes may transfer to Stanford. Think her brother plays there.
UConn presently has a head coach, but apparently Geno and Shea are even worse at coordinating than Mikayla and Jaylen.Potential of Shea to move on to UConn. Added uncertainty of Paye at Stanford.
Ever who ends up being the Auburn HC better be able to recruit on a high level. NIL money is pumped into the Football and Men's Basketball st Auburn. All about expectations and money your willing to invest. She did a decent job at Tennessee 106 and 51. SEC she was 53 and 24. She may miss the larger salary, too. Even if she went to a mid-major she'd earn more money than she's likely earning right now. But she's getting so much better at it she could, I think, work herself into a more regular gig and probably start earning more money -- IF she wanted to try it. On the other hand, if she branched out to other events in order to increase her earning power, that would obviously mean lots of travel. We'll see, but maybe she is happy where she is.
