This one is going to be interesting, probably 5-6 teams that could make the finals imo if it breaks well for them. My early guess would be boring by saying a TX and SC matchup looks likely, but things rarely play out to form like that.

If it ends up SC vs TX I take SC in that game, they beat TX by 17 at home, lost by four on the road at Texas. I don’t think it ends up that way, another team will bust into the finals likely. WBB is benefiting from more good teams, the sport is still growing. gL to everyone with their fav teams.

A&M scares me. At this point, everyone scares me!
They have to start playing with fire and determining energy and focus. It's on the players to step up. May have to cut the rotation to weed out the ones not working hard enough. She played a lot of players today that haven't had minutes until the game was decided.

FYI
Somebody said earlier that the SEC Tournament would be in Nashville in 2026, but the following is from the SEC website.

The conference announced a three-year extension with Greenville, S.C. to host the SEC Women’s Basketball Tournament in 2026, 2027 and 2028.

Maybe we see a little less full court press to preserve legs? Legs are a big part of shooting, which has been lacking. I'm not suggesting abandoning the system, but if they are in the SEC tournament for the trophy, some adjustments might be made.

Always hopeful. Go Lady Vols!

The full court press might be even more effective if it were applied selectively at various points in the game. Plus the obvious added benefit of saving the legs.

Doesn't surprise me that SEC tournament will still be held in Greenville the next 3 years. Sankey always caters to the CASH COWS of the League in each sport.

Only reason Baseball hasn't moved from Hoover is because it's been played there for many years..

Tough schedule for the SEC tourney. I think y'all should beat Texas A&M and Vandy. I think CKC will have your team fired up.

SCar is a tall task on a normal day, but it'll be harder playing on tired legs.
We may beat A&M and that is in question as they have wins over Ole Miss and Kentucky this season. We did beat them early in the season when we were playing well and not this whatever we are doing now. As far as Vandy I can see them beating us again Blakes is awesome expected someone to try and tamper with her when the season is over. She is worth big Nil money. They also have a big inside that can score which we probably can't stop. I see us losing.

Win one lose one not a bad scenario for them. Give them some time to rest players and practice time to work on things before NCAA. They are not winning SEC tourney so don't wear yourself out with 4-5 games.

Don’t know how to factor our frenetic pace in tournament play. Does back to back impact us more or teams not accustomed to it? Us with a couple of games vs a top seed on rest does scare me in the SEC. Don’t know how to factor the NCAA format.

Only thing is that leaves only our half court D which generally sucks. Esp when shooting is bad, pt off t.o.s is a way to score.

Good point. The Men's SEC Tourney is increasingly seen that way. Saw an article just today asking if winning the Men's is actually a liabilty bc it means you've played at least 3 or 4 in a row. Mulkey is sitting FJ to save for NCAAs

That's the key question, esp if the current problem is already fatigue.

Shouldn't factor as much in the NCAAs bc they never play back to back.

IMO we have to beat a biggie in game 3 to host again., Have to reach the semis.

I really hope the aTm game is the 'right the ship, get rid of the blahs' type game this team needs...a confidence builder.
Carry momentum into the Vandy game, then see if we can uncork the lightning in the bottle and knock out USCe.

If we do that, I'm saying the team over achieved for the tourney.
If they bow out at Vandy, I'm ok with that considering the great season they put together.

Expectations got a little to high after the great start. Were still to slow on the back end of the rotation with a few players. It is going to get better with the class coming in and hopefully the portal. Still we can get to 25 wins and I'd like to see that happen. That would take two in the SEC and two in the NCAA. Vandy will be a challenge without Cooper still a challenge with her, but I hope we can pull it off.

The All SEC player awards for 2025 are in the books:

**I personally would have voted for Morrow as SEC POY over Booker, equally as dangerous offensively and the better defender and rebounder. If I’m picking players to be on my team in the gym and have the first pick I am taking Morrow. Guaranteed double double every game.

In SEC games, Morrow avg 17/14 and no.4 in steals, also first team defense. Booker avg 15/7. Voters must have had Longhorns love.

Side note, both Booker and Morrow avg over 34 min/game. Joyce Edwards avg 15 points per game in SEC play in 21 min per game. Bright future for her and glad to see she made 1st team All SEC as a freshman, she likely stays there for the next three years joining some elite company that have done so for four years if she pulls it off. I’m betting she does. Fulwiley was 2nd team, she will also likely be 1st team going fwd for her next two seasons. She and Joyce will be full time starters next year and with a thinner bench should avg close to 30+ min per game going fwd.

I know that I sound like a homer, but Fulwiley deserved to be on the All Defense team, she is the best defender on the SC roster at this point, give it a tie with Raven perhaps. She was however voted 6th player of year and it was deserved.
