How's the scenery?

I grew up in TX, all my whole family lives there. TN has great looking woman and so does TX. I just think TX has more because there are more people in general.

Anyway...I was told once by a guy from Los Angeles that Dallas had better looking woman than in LA. One persons opinion yes, but he was surprised.

Anyway, IMHO UT is the better overall choice for DS when it comes to football. Unfortunately, in the state if utx comes a calling its hard to say no even if it's not the best option for you on the field. The school is great academically, and he and his family are set for life in there small East TX town.

Van, TX is a very small town. Lets think of it as a Bucksnort. Barely an exit off the highway. Utx doesn't stop there on a yearly basis. Maybe drive by the exit sign on the highway to get to Longview or Tyler, but it's been a awhile since a utx coach made a direct beeline to the town. It's a big deal. I'm sure the family will have the cleaning lady out tomorrow before they get there, and the town itself will be doing it's own kind of cleaning up waiting for Brown to come into town. Pretty sure the mayor is fully aware of the fact that Mack Brown is coming to town, and is scheming a way to personally meet him. If he isn't an aggie of course cause then there will be spikes set a long the road for him. :) I know this may sound like an exaggeration, and I may be laying it on a little thick. But trust me it's not out of the realm of possibility.

The story of Mack Brown coming to town to recruit the Santos kid will be spoken about for yrs and yrs by the old men sitting on the rockers in front of the general store and at the town barber shop. Just sayin...

We need someone to provide daily summaries of this thread.

No kidding I read through 10 pages and got caught up around lunch, then looked again just now and was 7-8 pages behind again. My summary: everyone is still freaking out. Some posters already think he is gone, some say he will stay. Some are bashing him, some are bashing the bashers for bashing. Lots of "dating in high school" analogies, some "if I were him" posts. Every 3 pages someone posts something from an actual source. Also, debate on how bad b12 sucks, who's better mizzou/atm or wvu/tcu? Blah blah blah, no one knows crap till visit Wednesday. There, saved y'all 30 or so pages

I have always loved long layovers in TX airports...for some reason there are always a ton of attractive ladies there, as opposed to say Detroit, or Pittsburgh.

Just some facts for those of you who think a LB like Santos isn't a fit for the Big12:

One team in the Big 12 averaged 50 attempts passing attempts per game. Six of the 10 teams in the league ran the ball more than they passed. Only 2 teams (Tech and OK St) averaged 10 more passing plays than running plays. Half the league averaged 10 more running plays than passing plays.

There's a lot of reasons the package-deal of Wilcox/Sirmon did not go to Texas last year. Some things were said by Mack Brown that really infuriated Wilcox and Sirmon. Those feelings have not subsided.

Surprised to see there isn't a "but but CDD is hard to work for and these coaches are jumping ship cause he is an a**!"

Ultimately, I think DS has it in his heart to play for UT. No other schools worried me. When he got this offer though I got nervous. Just cause I know how much pull and influence utx has. If he was from a big city than things could be different, but small town tx kids dream of playing for utx mostly and then you have some that dream of being aggies.

Glad to hear that there are some news out now that could make him think twice about going to utx. Also, that some previous coaches helping us out is very nice to hear. :good!:

***I know many don't care for the random posts on here and I understand that. Thing is I'm trying to get people on here to understand what utx means to some of these tx kids. Therefore if, and just saying if, he commits to them it doesn't get mega cray cray in here. If he would have switched to any other school it would deserve the negative melt down, but utx is utx to a small town TX kid and his family.***

That's fine and all but where are you getting all this?

Texas ladies are the best. I'm a Tennessee boy who married one of those beautiful Texas ladies. I told her when we got married that she could now consider Texas' debt to Tennessee paid in full.

I'd be willing to discuss the multitude of similarities of Mack Brown and Phil Fulmer with a Texas fan. Reading their opinions on other issues is like discussing quantum physics with Mike Tyson.

The fact you have grown adults calling a kid disloyal, arrogant, untrustworthy, etc.........all because his childhood favorite offered him a scholarship and he is considering it..........is pretty freaking pathetic.

There are some serious issues on this board with some people who hold that kind of animosity towards a kid for choosing a college to go to that will ultimately not impact their real life one single bit.

Rant over

:boobies:

I'm thinking about putting this thread on ignore until NSD. I don't want to deal with all of the drama after tomorrow's visits and after his OV to Tejas.

well , here's to me hoping you dont have to change your avatar when you do come back

EB4H,

Are you implying that The Bleacher Report had something worthy?

They just had an article stating Texas was intending to use Dalton as a long term backup and he was getting an offer because other recruits didn't pan out for them. Their fans on the site were saying he's gonna maje a good special teams player for them.
