If I was a decently touted recruit and would be a career back up at Tennessee then I would tell Tennessee to screw off. This would be my future and I want to develop the best I can with coaching and game experience. I'd love to play for UT. But if their plan is for me to be a career back up then forget it. If you go to a school that has that as their plan then you might be a little slow or you don't have aspirations to play in the nfl.

so you honestly think a player like DS thinks he's going to be a backup at UTA? You're crazy if you think any recruit on his level has that mindset. Maybe the position move could throw him but not what you described

Thin back to when you were 17 or 18 years old......you were infatuated with a chick who was a 10, you worshiped & adored her but she dated other people. You ended up dating an 8 who was a great girl but, a week before prom, the 10 approaches you and says she will make it a night you will never forget. Who, as a 17 or 18 year old kid, do you take to the prom? You take the 10.

I'd take the 8 coz she would do things the 10 won't.

But any word on Santos? That pic someone posted of him headed to the prom was really disturbing.

I actually agree with this analogy. Only, he forgot to mention that since spring break (when she looked smokin' in that bikini, remember?) the "10" has gained twenty pounds. And acquired an STD. That's why the other guys don't want to go out with her anymore and now she's chasing you.

Unfortunately a one night stand can leave you with STDs. Go back to your verbal masturbation over your syphilis infested Whorn university.

Don't forget the crazy hot scale

Does someone with talent enough to only be a career backup have the talent to go to the NFL? Does a person with low enough self esteem to view themselves as a career backup truly have asperations to the NFL?

The two things that a "career backup" will take out of their college football expereince will be the memories of football, and the degree. Perhaps he will want both of them to come from the team he has been a fan of his whole life.

Bad comparison. So, let's get one thing straight. The University of Tennessee, aka the Real UT, is not an 8. You might be proud of your school, but we have plenty of pride in ours as well.

To someone growing up in the Knoxville, Tennessee is the 10. To someone growing up where Santos grew up, Texas is the 10.

Other than...you know...average ranking in basketball and football over the last 5 years.

Or location.

Or fanbase IQ.

Or academics.

Or weather.

Or potential.

I could keep going.

A&M & Mizzou both blow WVU out of the water in terms of academics. As for location, Mizzou has one of my favorite campuses and college towns but I would put WVU over A&M. College Station is almost as bad as Lubbock. I was strictly speaking about football.

I'd take the 8 coz she would do things the 10 won't.

You know that now, with all of your wisdom, but did you think logically as a 17 or 18 year old kid?

Purely from a great football perspective. most Texas fans, me included, would love to see Texas in the SEC. What is preventing the move? The Texas President is a CAL alum and has always had a hard-on for Texas being in a conf with Stanford and Cal-Berkley for winning purposes.

The facts are on my side. TCU and A&M have the same # of titles (1) and both are ancient. TCU has a much, much better current history the past 15 years. WVU > Mizzou under any objective analysis.

Look, my feelings about A&M don't matter. No top 5 finish in almost 60 years. One old title. Those aren't my opinions, those are facts.

Now, I've never been to aTm. But if it is worse than that - I'm bummed.

This is what I would do also but in fairness to Dalton he may not be 'wired' like you and I.. Ultimately whatever decision he makes I hope it's HIS and not daddys, mommys or uncle Joe Bobs..

One more thing, Dalton if you do decide to go with Texas, son please have the decency to let the coaches know ASAP. Be a man, none of this Gabe Wright crap..[/QUOTE]

This. Isn't CSS visiting again tomorrow? I hope that if DS knows for sure he's TX-bound, he'll let Sal know.. Santos seems like a good kid, and you really can't fault the guy for wanting to play for his dream in-state school.

I hope he sticks, but I'm not expecting it...

The fact you have grown adults calling a kid disloyal, arrogant, untrustworthy, etc.........all because his childhood favorite offered him a scholarship and he is considering it..........is pretty freaking pathetic.

There are some serious issues on this board with some people who hold that kind of animosity towards a kid for choosing a college to go to that will ultimately not impact their real life one single bit.

Rant over

Dorial Green-Beckham stakes rising for Horns, Sooners, other hopefuls

From the Austin American Statesman:

Other recruiting updates:

• Four-star Van linebacker Dalton Santos, who has committed to Tennessee, now holds an offer from Texas and will make an official visit this weekend.

Santos learned about Texas' offer last Saturday, after Longhorns assistant coach Stacy Searels contacted his head coach. The 6-3, 257-pound Under Armour All-American will meet in Van on Wednesday with Brown, Searels and Texas defensive coordinator Manny Diaz.

"He will visit (Texas) and commit," an East Texas source said.

"That's what the family always wanted, and (it's) his dream destination."

In short: Santos should be a Texas commitment by this time next week, barring a last-minute surprise.

Go back to your own board and rant... I don't see many doing that. We just want this guy bad and we need him. We are a passionate fanbase

The fact is we shouldn't fall apart if he doesn't commit. We have an excellent recruiting class. I wish the kid luck, I hope he does well wherever he goes. I will say this, the university of Texas is where talent goes to get wasted, I have never thought that much of MB as a coach. Vince Young was so athletically gifted, that he saved his coaching career.
