I have a friend who just moved close to Van about a year ago. I didn't realize how close until we talked just now.

He told me this.. His exact text message.

"I've never met him, but I know a lot of his friends. I'm friends with this guy he hangs out with and he told me that yall are most likely gonna hang on to him. He was stoked when he got the Texas offer and everyone around here started pushing him to go to Texas instead of Tennessee but his coach showed him an article in a newspaper or something, idk.. But it said something about him being a backup at Texas and his coach got the feeling Texas only wanted him cause other players passed and that didn't sit well with him. He's being really quiet and it wouldnt surprise me with either one he chose but you say that everyone is claiming him a Texas lock but that is far from true according to his friends."

Then I replied
"That's great. However, if hes being so quiet then why would his friends know?"

Him
"They don't. They are just guessing off his moods after those certain events. They know Dalton, though, and they think he is still in love with Tennessee."

Sorry for the long post, but I thought some might find it interesting. I certainly did.
Obviously my friend, nor myself, are as good a source as Skeet seeing he hears it straight from the staff but nonetheless, it appears he has read the Bleacher Report article and didn't like it all which we all know is good news.

On a side note, they could all be lying or just wanting to know, etc... Just passing on what I was told. Take it for what you want.

Thank you for taking the time to share.:hi:

This post passes the smell test. Thank you.

I find it odd that Mr.Arrogance happens to show up when there is a chance that Texas steals one of our recruits..Coincidence?? I think not!! :nono:

Can't wait to see his reaction if/when Dalton doesn't flip to Texas!! It will probably be "we didn't want him anyway" or "he really wasn't gonna be that great"..I have heard all the excuses before on different message boards.

FYI...we're getting a little recruiting assistance from a former coach...

There's a lot of reasons the package-deal of Wilcox/Sirmon did not go to Texas last year. Some things were said by Mack Brown that really infuriated Wilcox and Sirmon. Those feelings have not subsided.

Thanks, OCI! Did Sirmon actually go out of his way to contact Dalton when he heard of the Texas offer, in order to give him this info? I think he and Wilcox are thankful to DD for the chance they had at UT, and they left on a great note with the program, cuz DD knew they wanted to go west. Is Sirmon still trying to steer him to UT out of gratitude, and knowing what the program can do for Dalton?

If what you are saying is true, the potential win of this is concentrated epic

Dont you have some piss balloons to be filling up?

The fact you have grown adults calling a kid disloyal, arrogant, untrustworthy, etc.........all because his childhood favorite offered him a scholarship and he is considering it..........is pretty freaking pathetic.

There are some serious issues on this board with some people who hold that kind of animosity towards a kid for choosing a college to go to that will ultimately not impact their real life one single bit.

Rant over

....I only talked about this past season because this was the first time in a while they started a season highly ranked and hung around the top 25 because of that initial ranking. The decade before that they weren't ranked "consistently" by any means......

Apparently, you either don't read so well, or you and I have a very different opinion on the word "consistently" when it comes to rankings. From the site I gave you to research, A&M has consistently done well over the last several decades. This decade, they currently sit at 21st overall in the country in AP poll appearances, which puts them at 3rd in teams currently in the big 12. The 2000s was their worst decade of recent years, in which they were 42nd in the country and 7th in the big 12. In the 1990s, they were 8th in the country and 1st in the big 12. 1980s: 29th and 4th. 1970s: 19th and 3rd. From the start of the poll in 1936, A&M is 20th in most appearances in the AP poll in the country and 3rd most for the big 12.

I realize AP poll rankings are sometimes off base, or preseason rankings are way off and it takes a few weeks to get it adjusted right, but when you look at them overall, they tend to give you a good look at how a school has performed over the years. From these numbers, I think surely you'd agree that this would place A&M at about the third-fourth best football program in the big 12, right? So, are you saying that one of the best big 12 teams is watering down the SEC? Really?
