11' GA TE Jay Rome

I could see that when they need additonal blocking help but not a pass receiving threat.

Does anyone remember what kind of hands he has from high school? I remember he played TE in high school and it seems like I remember hearing he was fairly atheletic but thats about as far as my memory takes me..

leading that effort, dickson said, is five-star tight end jay rome of valdosta. Rome admits that georgia leads and that he’s “really close” to making a decision. In fact, rome said he considered making an announcement in orlando. “i thought about it while i have been here and i prayed about it a couple of times,” he said. “i might, but more than likely i won’t.” rome said he plans to still make an official visit to clemson and possibly tennessee.

I don't pay attention to kids in high school so I have no idea. He looks too bulky to me to be much more than a blocker if a TE. Rivera is currently all we have that can catch the ball, hopefully.

I seriously think next year you will see many more 3 and 4 wides and mainly due to lack of TE's. Clear won't be a help as a TE. too young and not physically mature..

Well, it is what it is I guess.. Come on Rome... Come to UT and play some ball.. Next year.. Seriously.. You'll play next year.. :)

Rome can run block watched him alot this year. Just checked his Facebook page and he said 50% chance he commits tomorrow at Under Armor game. I told him i could see the Bray to Rome connection in the checkerboards and the Band playin Rocky Top all night long. GO VOLS

Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, and wrong.

Biggest offensive needs are offensive line (which we will get) and another tight end (Cam Clear). Other than that, defense should be the biggest priority.

I said nothing about the defense... and other than that you agreed with me... I don't understand your response........

Jay Rome would be my #1 target for our 2011 class. I believe he has all the skills to make him Jason Witten 2.0.

If he does, it's Georgia. No doubt about it. The later this recruitment goes on the better it is for us. If he announces tonight, he's a Dawg.
