11' GA TE Jay Rome

Multimillion dollar buyout is why UGA will not fire CMR this year. Next year they no longer have to worry about that buyout.

The recruits know that if any commit to UGA this year they need to do it because they want to play at UGA not because of CMR. UGA will get a great coach to step in and I would think any SEC fan would want him there for a while. Seems that a noncompetative UGA team is better than a competative one.

Again Rimoe I would say is all UGA, but as I read the interviews today from the UA a few have stated it will not happen like UGA fans want.

Dickson on Rome:

"There no doubt that Jay Rome is the ringleader of the dream team," Dickson said. "He's always calling us trying to recruit us to Georgia."

Rome has been a UGA lock for months, nothing new.

The "Dream Team" stunt Richt is pulling is hilarious!! :eek:lol:

I bet you felt the same way about Da'Rick.

Why repeat over and over that we have no chance if we both know that the bold is really the truth.. You have NO idea because he doesn't even know.

Da'Rick is a completely different story. A rather funny one to tell you the truth, but I want to stay friendly on here so I will not say what I know. Everything worked out and Rogers is happy about his decision, that's what really matters at the end of the day.

Rome is practically a Dawg, plenty of proof. But yes, anything can still happen. You can have coaches resign, fired, or take another job without anybody having a clue of what will happen. You guys went through it last year and it can happen to anybody. That's what I mean by saying, "anything can happen."

okay... well you can't leave it at that. what is the funny story that UGA fans made up so they didn't feel so hurt by losing rogers?

Waaaaah! waaaah! Darick only went to UT because of the Nance family!! Waaaaah!

Something like that I suppose...

No. We absolutely wanted Rogers. Any Dawg fan who tells you otherwise is NUTS. The guy was our offensive headliner. The guys responsible for Rogers are also the most hated guys at UT. (wink, wink) That's the funny thing. But hey, Rogers is happy at UT so its all good. We've moved on.

If Rome watched the Liberty Bowl and still wants to go there - then he really must want to go there. I only hope that he has patience based on his team and individual goals for his college career.

Jay Rome-

"Well, you know, I definitely like to keep in touch with my boys," Rome said. "We're all from Georgia and we're all doing our thing in the same class, so, you know, you want to play with your friends.

"But I don't think I'm the ringleader or anything."

Dickson disagreed.

I dont like our chances at all anymore:cray:

UGA insider, i like your style... UGA fans always have a good celebration on NSD, the state is loaded with talent, and many of them want to play in Red and Black. The problem is that the talent isn't being properly developed. jmo

UGA insider, when do you think rome will see the field at uga? The Dawgs have all kinds of depth and studs at TE.

Here is the deal.

I think Rome will definitely see the field as a Freshman but will be brought along slowly to get comfortable with our system. Rome could easily become our 2nd string TE mid-way through the year depending on his progress of course.

We have plenty of depth like you mentioned but this is how it will break down.

Bruce Figgins will actually get some looks at FB since our 2 FB's graduated this year so we're a little thin and undersized at FB. Figgins is a big body that can lower the boom on LB's. I don't see him seeing the field at TE much to be honest.

Aron White will be our 2nd string but he's very inconsistent catching the ball. He has tons of experience and plenty of talent. White is crucial as to what happens with Rome. White could have a breakout season which would only keep Rome on the bench because the other spot is taken by Mr. Orson Charles.

Orson Charles, really not much to say about him. We are expecting him to leave after next year which will open the door for Rome to be the man in his Sophomore year.

Arthur Lynch will mainly get mop up duty and play on Special Teams. I would not sleep on Lynch. This kid is a blue collar hard working kid that could surprise alot of people.

Rome will not see the field much as a FR but will have the keys handed over to him his Sophomore year because Figgins, White, and possibly Charles will be gone by then. That's the scenario we've presented him and he has no problems with it.

Hey man, I tell it like it is. Sometimes the truth hurts and you have to see it for what it is.

Our coaching staff is not very popular right now. Their seats are hotter than he11 right now. Some major changes have to made, mainly with attitude. I still think CMR is the man for it. The guy has been real good to us and I'm not ready to give up on him just yet.

The Mutts are another example of a team acquiring great talent and not knowing what to do with it.

While I feel that Richt is a deeply religious man and that pitch will be welcoming to recruits, the fact at the end of the day is that the coaching there is very subpar. That being said, I think Rome and Crowell will be Mutts and will ride the pine for a couple of years, while Ray Drew will go to the Aubies and Dickson will go to The Enemy.

LOL @ ringleader of the dream team.

Georgia signs a "dream team" every single year.

There isn't a program out there that does less with more than they do. Hilarious that kids are still not able to see that.

Richt plays the religion card to death. Jesus should be on the payroll at UGA.
