11' GA TE Jay Rome

Rome tells Austin Price that he will not be officially visiting the Vols. Big surprise there. Looks like he will be announcing with UGA along with his teammate Malcolm Mitchell on the 20th.

Could start as Fr at Tennessee or sit behind Orson Charles for 2 years. Kid is not thinking clearly!

Jay Rome indicated to him (Price) tonight that he will not visit the Vols officially.

It's been thought all along that he would go to UGA and that certainly appears to be the case.

Dang. Was hoping when I saw this thread come up, it was going to be a good suprise.

Oh well. You never know thou.

Look up five posts. :)

Yeah I know. It's just that many posters on here don't believe anything unless it has an analyst's signature posted next to it.

So I figured I'd quote the actual source before I got a "Link of GTFO" from somebody.

dudes a baller, went and watched him play McEachern in the play offs and he straight up looked like a prototype TE....

I didn't even realize you posted both of those.

Never had much confidence in Rome coming to Tennessee, but I at least though he would give us a visit. Dont worry though folks, Dooley is working hard and it will payoff. Look for a few surprises to unfold in the next few weeks.

Come on down Mr. Rome, should be official within the next week or so. Charles and Rome next year, sounds like a very good pair.

Rome shut down recruiting about a month ago. He had his mind made up about UGA during his OV. Going to UT would only give him more to think about, I'm glad he's not going.

Your problem has not been and will not be talent. You've had the talent to win the SEC every year Richt has been there.

not sure how having a strong PAIR of TEs helps anything.

No doubt our program has been down the last couple of years. Richt knows he's up against the wall and I have all the confidence that he will turn it around. Getting bigtime talents will always help. This is the MOST critical recruiting class in Richt's tenure at UGA. Rome is a HUGE dominoe, once he falls, our other top targets will feel that much better about UGA. Rome and Charles is a BIG deal, those two could start anywhere from day 1.

So what? Who needs a pair of talented pass catching tight ends? Neither one of them will be the receiver that a slot guy is and neither is a particularly gifted blocker. If you're trying to employ both on a lot of plays, you'll give up something.
