Actually we cud bring Jaron Toney (sp) back over or put JRM at RB as Freshman to get him some early playing time. Devrin Young ? Point is we have some options to go 3-4 deep if in fact Lane is not back.
Don't think Butch will go down that path after traveling around the state recently and saying Character is one of the first things they look at in a recruit.
Heard this a.m. That Coach Urbie (OSU) and Coach Brady (MEECHIGAN U) were zeroing in on this kid and calling daily. So I believe Coach Butch got a good one. The kid has great footwork and solid frame to put on needed weight.
Thigpen awful strong as LB Coach also. Wudnt be surprised strong nickel package look at times playing against more spread. Certainly looks like we're bringing in some kids to get early looks at CB or Safety.
Blanc is gonna be used in the slot and do not be surprised to see him making some great plays whether it be receiving or blocking. He's a talent just as Josh Smith is who due to fact they lived in Knoxville committed early and didn't go out looking at other schools.
Gatorade Player of the Year, broke 3-4 all time Tn State Records, 2nd in nation passing according to Maxpreps in his first year as a starting QB and yet everyone appears to be 2nd guessing Highs ability. Good thing someone decided to take a chance on Devrin Young.
Sometimes u just have to look...
McCullers is gonna be fine. Of course he's gonna have a "learning curve" and of course he's gonna be going against much better talent than he's used to.. BUT he's a BIG MAN and u can bet Palermo AND Sal are gonna give him alot of attention and bring him along.. A guy that size, taught the right...
Think issue is "experience" of depth. IMO we've got some "bodies" who are going to develop into solid talent and do believe Sal will also be somewhat creative with schemes to take advantage of what we have. Fortt wud be nice but he's been one of the guys most vocal on staying. My understanding...
Crayton is a "stud" and quite frankly we need to be putting all the "hot sauce" he wants on him for the last D line spot.
He's one of those NG types that ate perfect for 3-4. Even though Bama used Mount Cody more often, Josh Chapman was by far the most effective and about same size as Crayton...
Ouch. Hadn't thought about that one as the rumors came out on Stone going back to Center.. Bullard too far into school to be making those type of mistakes. :banghead2:
