'13 DT AL Rod Crayton

He was at the BDC on Friday but just to be there they told him they had seen all they needed that is the same at the other camps. He dominated at all the camps. He took Josh Boutte at LSU and man handled him, but he did that at every camp.

You can tell him to come on up to Knoxville. We'd love to have him. There isn't anything better than being a VFL!

He manhandled everyone Ive seen. Would he be a DE in a 3-4 or DT?

Post often. I like hearing about competitions at camps. Who gave him the most trouble?

Crayton is a "stud" and quite frankly we need to be putting all the "hot sauce" he wants on him for the last D line spot.
He's one of those NG types that ate perfect for 3-4. Even though Bama used Mount Cody more often, Josh Chapman was by far the most effective and about same size as Crayton. Craytons "brutal" strength in the middle cud totally "blow up" alot of running plays or drop back QB's.
Take him over T Johnson. We'd have Crayton 5 to play 4 as opposed to Johnson only 2 years.

Want both prefer Crayton.

Just thought I would put it in here that DE Jason Hatcher is committing tomorrow at 7:00 and it is between us and USC. continue

I really want this guy to be part of our class. He's got a non stop motor and the physical abilities to boot. One of my favorite D lineman in this class. He reminds me of Glenn Dorsey.

Thanks for the input, Burn the Boat....

Really look forward to an update when Rod visits UT. We got OBrien last year, but we had near misses on most big names we've been in on. Hoping you aren't another near miss and we can see you be a VFL

Going to try and make it to one of Crayton's games this year. He's worth the drive.

Give us a report on the big guy. I really hope the coaches can reel this young man in. He's going to be stout DT and I would rather him play for us than to play against him.

OT but is your screen name based off of the conquistador tale?

Wherever Crayton ends up, he almost certainly won't need a redshirt. He is phenomenally powerful, as Burn the Boats mentioned earlier. Assuming his reported numbers are correct, he may already be stronger than Darwin Walker (550 bench, 625 squat) was as a college senior.

“Yeah, he’s a strong fella,” Harrison said. “As long as I’ve been doing it, anybody that can move whatever weight they were doing four or five times (on half bench) can always do the weight they were doing once (on a full bench).

“I just do lighter weight for him and more reps.”

What is considered lighter weight?

How about 20 full-bench reps at 325 pounds, 10 reps at 405 and eight reps at 450.

That's tough.

That is more than Tiny Richardson.
