Arnett to transfer?

What is your deal? Did CDD pull your offer in the past? Or did he just straight up tell you that your not good enough.

If I had the talent to play D1 ball I certainly wouldn't play for a loser like Dooley. Just don't see the point in punishing a kid that wants to go play for an in state school in another conference. Dooley is a loser and a tool.

I do not see the point of you telling everybody this, unless of course you want to smear the image of our program.

He's not being punished, he's getting what he wanted. He's getting his release and the option to play for several D1 schools close to home. If its true about him transferring in order to play and be close to his dad who currently sick, then why fight Tennessee when we're giving him what he wanted? He simply wants to transfer and play at a big stage school close to home such as MSU, Michigan, or Notre Dame, well sorry but Arnett made a commitment to The University of Tennessee last year, not Charlie Baggett. Its simple, we're trying to show that we want player committed to this University and not a coach.

It is Dooley being mad. Be glad when he gets fired. It is coming, not an "if."

Im not sold on Dooley as a head coach by no means, and I do question his coaching ability at times, but this is a situation that I do agree with him on. People calling Dooley heartless obviously dont have their eyes open, otherwise they would see that Arnett is most likely using his father's sickness as a loophole to transfer to a big stage school close to home. He shouldn't have been in talks with MSU while still a current Tennessee football player either. Arnett isn't proving to be so innocent as he may seem imo.

I'm not drinking the DooleyAid or saying which side is right (I honestly believe both sides are wrong here). While I agree with you that Arnett needs to be let go (PR nightmare is main reason) I have to say you need to change your name. You are not allvol at all. The fact that you wouldn't play football here because Dooley is coach is proof that you don't live up to your user name. Change it to allvolonlyifiagreewiththecoachinghire.

Fwiw, I think you are a very good poster, and I'm glad you post here. Also glad your daughter chose UT. I'm sure whoever she is, she is making both the university, as well as you proud.

I think they are just assuming it. Just like any other message board there are a lot of people who dont have time for the facts.

Most MSU fans dont have any ties or concerns with UT unless it concerns a recruit, and then it is very seldom. Im here because I have ties to the University, that being my kid.

I dont think anyone on the MSU boards has talked to Baggett personally and got that info. I know someone who knows Charlie very well, I will try to get an opinion from him this weekend.

Arnett may well have hurt his future draft stock by all this and not because of the transfer/potential lost time etc. The NFL does look at the things you do in college and I can't imagine that Arnett's media blast here is going to help him should he make it to draft day.

Edit: after thought. Not after though.

It will be an after though IF (VERY big if here) he is good enough to ever sniff a NFL training camp.

Exactly, he is bashing his coaches right now, Is he going to bash the owner of a team in the future?. Whether he is right or wrong, he should learn to take care of bussines in a more subtle way.

The main reason DA is leaving is because of his brother. His brother has been working behind the scenes with one particular school since CBB left. He will not be able to attend that school unless he pays his own way the first year. Im sure more will come out as time goes on.

His brother, was the main person pushing him to Tennessee last year.

That makes more sense as to why CDD is sticking with his guns then

Of course it's an IF situation with the NFL but given Arnett's insistence on a BCS school and his prior recruitment situation, it's a pretty good bet that he imagines himself in the NFL someday and with that goal in mind he should've been more careful about bashing his coaches and making a spectacle of himself in a negative way. Draftees have dropped several spots and even entire rounds because teams felt that their levels of immaturity, egos, reputations, and/or attitudes displayed in college made their success in the NFL questionable.

The email he sent out along with all the publicity that has followed may end up costing him real money someday. Players planning on future playing days should always keep such things in mind before they go off half-cocked. It's a tall order but when it comes to problems with a team, coach, etc. players have to be more mature than your average 18-23 year old mad at his/her teacher or employer.

Thank you. It does mean a lot to me.

She is absolutely making us all proud. She finished her first semester with a 3.8 and is one heck of a competitor.

Someday I will talk more about who she is, but she is in a minor sport so she's not real visible and Id like to keep it that way for a little while.

Thanks again, it is good to be here.

I like your post too. You actually try to offer something to the board, unlike some of the posters on here. I am curious about one thing however. You are apparently a Gator fan and a Spartan as well. You don't really seem to be a UT fan, even though your daughter is a student here. I have a little girl, and I know whatever she does, that will be #1 to me. I'm just trying to figure out how you can't be a huge UT fan since your daughter is a part of that now. Not bashing you, just curious, and confused. :)

Read his other posts. He's doing his best. :)

(and ponder how you will feel if your daughter one day accepts an athletic scholarship to Bama or Florida  )

Thanks. Yes I am 10000000bajillion% behind my daughter and anything that she does. If she were playing for Iraq I would probably. . . no wait. . that might be a bad comparison.

She grew up as a Spartan and Gator. She wanted to be at MSU with all of her heart. But we moved here a week before she started HS. She has dealt with the GatorHaters from day one. They were harsh.

But when it came time to apply for colleges I told her she had to apply to 5. Fortunately, 3 of the top Vet Schools in the country are MSU, UF and UT. She was accepted to all three, and offered full academic schollys to all 3 (Hope scholly + Scholly from school here at UT)

She hated the thought of going anywhere but MSU, it was her dream. But she hated moving away from her Mommy and Daddy even more. So I helped her get used to the idea. We spent a lot of time on campus. We snuck into Neyland and took pictures. We snuck into Thompson Boling Arena, with the help of one of Coach Summitts childhood friends. He was very cool, gave us a tour and a little sales pitch all at the same time.

And we became closet Vol fans. She loves being a Lady Vol. She is very proud of her achievements, and she should be because she has had to bust her tail to make the squad. She is the most competitive person I have ever met in my life.

I might as well say it, because a little stalking and yall would find it, she is on the Novice Rowing team. She had never rowed a day in her life. But she loves she sport because it is all about "out competing" the next team. If you bust your butt more than the person next to you, you win. She is hoping to make the varsity either this spring, but most likely by next fall. The kid is a competitor you folks would be proud to know her and call her a LadyVol. dadgummit, now Im getting all teary eyed!!! haha.

She's a good kid, and a great representative of your University. Very proud of her, as you can imagine.

EDIT: almost forgot. Ive never been a VolHater, as I was seriously considering becoming a Vol out of HS myself. Was offered a free ride (music+academic), but turned it down for free ride to UF, where I was already chasing a couple skirts! I want UT to win all but ONE GAME every fall. And in Rowing, all bets are off, GO VOLS. (dang, I said it!!)
