I like your post too. You actually try to offer something to the board, unlike some of the posters on here. I am curious about one thing however. You are apparently a Gator fan and a Spartan as well. You don't really seem to be a UT fan, even though your daughter is a student here. I have a little girl, and I know whatever she does, that will be #1 to me. I'm just trying to figure out how you can't be a huge UT fan since your daughter is a part of that now. Not bashing you, just curious, and confused.
Read his other posts. He's doing his best.
(and ponder how you will feel if your daughter one day accepts an athletic scholarship to Bama or Florida  )
Thanks. Yes I am 10000000bajillion% behind my daughter and anything that she does. If she were playing for Iraq I would probably. . . no wait. . that might be a bad comparison.
She grew up as a Spartan and Gator. She wanted to be at MSU with all of her heart. But we moved here a week before she started HS. She has dealt with the GatorHaters from day one. They were harsh.
But when it came time to apply for colleges I told her she had to apply to 5. Fortunately, 3 of the top Vet Schools in the country are MSU, UF and UT. She was accepted to all three, and offered full academic schollys to all 3 (Hope scholly + Scholly from school here at UT)
She hated the thought of going anywhere but MSU, it was her dream. But she hated moving away from her Mommy and Daddy even more. So I helped her get used to the idea. We spent a lot of time on campus. We snuck into Neyland and took pictures. We snuck into Thompson Boling Arena, with the help of one of Coach Summitts childhood friends. He was very cool, gave us a tour and a little sales pitch all at the same time.
And we became closet Vol fans. She loves being a Lady Vol. She is very proud of her achievements, and she should be because she has had to bust her tail to make the squad. She is the most competitive person I have ever met in my life.
I might as well say it, because a little stalking and yall would find it, she is on the Novice Rowing team. She had never rowed a day in her life. But she loves she sport because it is all about "out competing" the next team. If you bust your butt more than the person next to you, you win. She is hoping to make the varsity either this spring, but most likely by next fall. The kid is a competitor you folks would be proud to know her and call her a LadyVol. dadgummit, now Im getting all teary eyed!!! haha.
She's a good kid, and a great representative of your University. Very proud of her, as you can imagine.
EDIT: almost forgot. Ive never been a VolHater, as I was seriously considering becoming a Vol out of HS myself. Was offered a free ride (music+academic), but turned it down for free ride to UF, where I was already chasing a couple skirts! I want UT to win all but ONE GAME every fall. And in Rowing, all bets are off, GO VOLS. (dang, I said it!!)
