A lot of optimism on here going into the game against SC... Yes, we played a great game Saturday against a terrible defense who canned one of their coaches afterwards because they were so bad... I think SC has a better defense than Mizz, so we will see what happens... I would be shocked if we see the same wide open running lanes we had with Mizz this weekend... We will score points, but not like that... hoping for a 28-14 type outcome or better...

I'll reserve long term judgement until after this game coming up... If we show the same progress, then I'll totally be on board for an upset of either Ole Miss or KY... We are definitely getting better each game and if we can stay healthy and keep progressing, I think we will definitely see an uptick in recruiting the last few months... Kids are watching and will want to come here to be part of the climb.

I think the big KEY and takeaway from this season when it's over is who wants to come and play here--- recruiting... VERY important that we finish strong and sign a better class than where we are headed right now or we will be spinning our wheels next year and folks are going to ask why there isn't continued improvement at certain position groups.

I would say the South Carolina game is a "first to 24 wins" kind of game. I trust Tennessee's offense to get to 24 more than South Carolina's offense as long as we do not turn the ball over.

I’d expect a tougher game than we just played. South Carolina will try to ugly this game up. They have a stout DL with a couple 5 stars. Need to play mistake free, OL will need to be ready and QB needs to keep hitting the deep shots to open things up. Offensively we should be fine stopping their run game as our interior run defense is legit. Key will be don’t let Doty run around like Emory and Pickett. They will probably do a lot of Doty runs and roll outs for that reason.

We should win I just don’t think it will be as pretty as mizzu game.

Todd Orlando(boy does he regret the decision, Washington and Banks were the top 3 targets. Banks was going to be who Franklin brought as DC if he came to TN. Which is how Banks got on our radar. Glad we came back and made him an offer he couldn’t refuse. What a hire he has turned out to be. Great staff overall so many solid defensive minds with a lot of coordinating experience.

It’s is crazy what this staff is doing with guys people wrote off. Solon Page with two starts…Banks looks like a NFL LB, Beasley goes from accused of killing a cat to a playmaking Lb. what a job by BJM. Would love to see Apache get more run as he is a missle. Theo looks like a NFL player now. Butler move to DT likely makes him some future money with how he is playing.

On offense… freaking Ollie Lane and Kingston Harris have started games. Jacob Warren could find himself becoming a NfL roster guy. Crazy what this staff is doing. Love the adjustments. Don’t just sit around and wonder how to get more
People involved they just do it. Moving Velus to slot since Hyatt and Callaway not trustworthy catching the ball to use their speed. Get the ball to the guy that catches it each time.
Warren has been my biggest surprise. He looks like a legit tight end that can get some NFL run.

You would have to think that offensive recruits would be looking at the numbers being put up and think success. This team is fun, and with no disrespect to the players here at this time because they are killing it, if this staff get elite athletes it could be an unbelievable run.

I recall that 2013 Oregon game where Tennessee was completely boat raced and I didn’t see it coming.

It was nice to do that same thing to another team and I agree, we will do that a lot more going forward once Heupel gets his guys!

It’s still going to take a while to get to the level of competitive depth it takes to win championships though. Patience is critical.

He’s been so close to making me eat crow but I’ll be danged if he doesn’t just keep proving my original point that he would have a marginal improvement at Florida mostly based on recruiting base. Beats who he should, sometimes doesn’t, and that’s about it

Yeah, so far I think it's going mostly as expected. Talent rich state, with down UM & FSU. Just out gunning the east, sans GA, as a result.
Coaching - the ability to steal a win that he shouldn't, on any given day but ditto for dropping a game.

Still believe it would've been similar for TN but with less in recruiting, especially with such limited state loyalty, here. Would've been mostly stabilizing on the plus side but think the expectations may have out weighed the reality.
Short stint of contentment followed by the inevitable grumbling over the game/s that cost us the "could've been" seasons.

Or I may have zero clue what the hell I'm talking about. 50/50.
