If we win 8 games this year, beating Ole Miss and KY, we're going to be kicking ourselves hard over that Pitt loss and maybe even Fl. Both of those were winnable games things just hadn't clicked for us yet. But that will show a lot of promise in year 1.

Ehh I don’t think it’s a big deal. It’s growing pains that this team needed going forward. Plus, we solidified a QB in the process.

Huh…? How are we not better at LB? Our LBs couldn’t cover anything last year.
Lol. READ people. Lol. We are coached way better, And they play fast. But we are not as talented. If Too had stayed. He would be better coached and starting next to Banks. It’s not false to say we are less talented at the position but we are playing better and we are better coached.

We are way better coached that is correct, but Too Too would be starting with Banks if he was still here. You are holding the coaching against Too and Crouch when they would be much better under this staff. We would be better with them but they left so IDGAF about then anymore. But we would be better with them.
I won’t disagree that we have a drop off after Banks, but I blame Pruitt for that, he recruited all those guys.

Imagine my dismay when I get my morning coffee and read posters actually dissing mayo. Then counter-protestors follow it with liking mayo, but also liking non-southern brands like Hellman's and Kraft. How ridiculous. It's always Duke's and Blue Plate. Period. I have no quarrel with anybody who picks one of those two, although Duke's is #1 in our home. The rest of you just lost your SEC Vol card until you repent.

If you have liked T-Evans, Alvin Kamara, and LT as RB's - say hello to RB commitment Dylan Sampson. This kid is blowing up and the smile on my face knowing he will wear orange in this system is huge. Our HC/staff locked on him early and it is going to pay big dividends. Oh - he's a 3* per the self proclaimed gurus and experts. Is he disqualified now?

Trust any staff that is comprised of innovators and sound football minds with good track records. Ours know what they are doing and are executing a plan that will work very well. They gave us the huge statement win at Mizzou. We will still have highs and lows for awhile until the roster is rebuilt and developed. However, there will be more highs than lows. All that is left for Heup/staff to prove up is the roster rebuild. I have confidence he will and relatively soon.
My wife's mother and my grandmother both said Kraft is the best. They were both honorable southern ladies who could cook circles around almost anybody. If they say Kraft is the best, I am going to go with what they say.

If we go 8-4 with this roster in year one, I am forgetting those early losses and extending JH immediately.

We have two un-winnable games going forward. Ole miss is a winnable game with the way our defense is playing. We have them at home and their defense is atrocious. Would love to see us beat Kiffin in year 1 under Heup. The heads of many Vol fans would explode because Heup beat their hero in year 1
This is the game I want the most.

I don't see how this game this weekend is close. SC does have a better defense than Mizzou, but their offense is far worse. They are anemic on offense. They barely beat Troy and ECU. We're going to blow them out and they will quit just like Mizzou did. I'm still predicting 42-13 but it wouldn't surprise me if they don't score a touchdown.

We made our own Mayo and it was better than anything you could buy. However, today I use only Dukes. It is the best I have purchase and the others are not even close.

Here's a question. On the screen where VJ scored all the line men were just standing around. I think he got some blocking but not from these guys. Was that intended to decoy or what?

Probably so, and he’d still be a liability in pass coverage...

If we won 8 games after our start and what we have to work with, I wouldn't just jump off the fence, I'd hunt down Trippie's mini statue of Heup and hang upon it some of those giant, store bought cojanes!

(And possibly rename a child, though I could see a fight looming)

Is it bad that I don’t want Flowers to play Safety in that Ole Miss game?

Yeah, but you can't use revisionist history to chide Heupel for those losses.

Being a new coach implementing a new scheme with a thin roster of players you didn't recruit is a legitimate reason for struggling out of the gates, particularly in your first Power 5 game and first SEC game.

We have to get real as fans.

And those games are honestly immaterial to Tennessee.

If we get to a bowl game (or 8 wins!), no one will think about them.

The 2019 team erased the memory of those embarrassing Georgia State, BYU and Florida losses by the way it finished.

Better coached at LB, but I don't think the guys playing are more talented than Henry or Crouch. And if we had both of them still here I think the Pitt game and possible the Florida game have different outcomes.

So you think they are getting better coaching than what Nieds was giving them?

Come on Pogue!!

I'm not criticizing Heup I'm just saying "what could have been?" Its obvious that things just hadn't clicked, Milton had looked like a world beater in practice while Hooker had struggled, but in games Hooker is by far the better player. It took a few games to get that figured out and even then, Hooker struggled some against Florida and of course Florida played the best game of the year against us like they always do. I'd like to play them and Pitt again though because the results would be different.
