It is major league players competing against a high school team. Many of the boosters earned their money and influence in the free market. They have decades of experience putting together deals, hiring MBB consultants to develop plans, and applying strategic pressure to ensure certain outcomes.
The AA/AD on the other hand do not hire elite people to look at deals, love to hang around yes men, and run from obstacles rather than try to solve them.
It is not a fair fight.
Shoop is damaged for sure....worst decision he ever made.
Quick analogy because I love how all this interlaces with my profession..I swear I talk Army more on here than anywhere else. Not sure if that's good or bad
When I'm planning a flight of aircraft to land somewhere high, hot, heavy, hostile, and dark, there are a ton of variables to solve premission, enroute, and landing to the LZ.
Time will VERY rarely cancel a mission. You can push it left or right, or change the route to get there. The route seldom matters as long as it avoids enemy detection and gets you to the right spot. The most important part of any flight...Landing. Safely getting everyone back on the ground and in the right spot to continue the next phase of the mission.
I just thought I'd share. May help explains my addiction to the content as much as the outcome. It's the journey you have to enjoy as much as getting there.
The Clay Travis article about the situation that was linked earlier in this thread specifically calls at Walt Wells for sending Kendrick back in the game.
I don't think so. As has been mentioned already, the responsibility for managing concussions is not in the purview of the HC. Now, is the coaching staff responsible for making sure the medical staff has access? Sure.
I just haven't seen any allegations that the coaching staff knew about any issues, or prevented access by medical staff.
Administrative leave for an investigation would only be appropriate in the case of an investigation into wrong doing by an individual. In this case, it is investigation into the circumstances around an alleged fact (a concussion happened) in order to determine wrongdoing by any party.
you were being argumentative when i asked my question (still trying to catch up in the thread). after a while, you had calmed down, and i was thinking you're off the ledge or whatever.
now, i catch up to your response, and you didn't answer the question. why not?
It's hard to have a decent conversation when everyone is saying stfu and gtfo.
This is exactly what I'm trying to say as well my friend. But be prepared to be crucified for it.Pro Gruden. Was here in 2012.
I believe pointing out insider information that doesn't match up with reality is not "trying to stir this stuff up".
I don't particularly care to hear anyone's opinion on this, and I don't use this thread as a random chat room.
If we stop caring whether any of the info is actually true, speculation gets posted as fact, and people run with it.
Then, those of us actually trying to deduct real information from what is posted here are unable to do that. Because the only things that get discussed are the things people want to hear.

There is currently a power struggle of sorts in the leadership of the "boosters."
Certain boosters went against the wishes of others in the last coaching hire, as they did not want to give up power.
Feelings we're hurt and new alliances were formed.
I feel like a lot of powerful people have been planning this current situation for the last five years.
