OP, I am not sure which is more comical, the hate you will receive for this thread or the amount of B.V.S. (battered vol syndrome)you have to create the thread.

I am excited about Pruit but I see how fans would quickly turn on him. The SEC is a tough place to win and has the bammer ties. Both go against him in winning the fan base.

All we can have is hope that he can turn this thing around. Too much negativity around Tennessee lately to make it up before it happens.

Go Vols!

It's now being reported that Austin Thomas was offered more $ by LSU (More than Tennessee offered) to stay in Baton Rouge, and he turned it down in order to join Pruitt/Fulmer's staff. Your opinion is irrelevant. Should have put it in one of the Pruitt Threads. It's very pretentious to think that your opinion holds more water than anyone else.

All those for, Bama, Learning on the Job Pruitt, beware. You are not welcome here, lol. I kid, I know he is a Bama fan, but I believe him when he says his name is on the program and that he is all in here at UT. Anyway, don't be surprised at the comments you see, and don't be mad because we disagree with your rosey outlook on the new coach. Let's get this cold bucket of water prepared to be poured on all you sunshine CJP pumpers out there ( and there seems to be a ton of you ).

CJP will not be here at UT 4 years from now. The most likely thing that will happen, the losses will mount, and he gone. My psychic powers suggest that in year 3 the name "CJBP" will be how CJP is labeled.

If by small chance, the inexperienced, CJP wins here at UT, there is a good chance he will leave for Bama.

I hope for the best, but I can not neglect my rational ( and psychic :) ) powers, and join up with you pumpers. Rationally think about this hire. After you meditate on it, weigh out the evidence for and against him here at UT, and if you will be an honest judge, I think you will see that this most likely will not end well. Once again, most likely, his inexperience will cost him. Too many mistakes, too many errors in teaching all 3 phases of the game, will cost him. The more experienced coaches will leave him scratching his head and swimming in a pool of despair.

Go Vols

Why dont you look into your crystal ball and pick yourself some lottery numbers? Seems you know just about everything else.

Oh, we'll definitely give him a chance. Honestly, I'm excited to see what he brings to the table. For some reason, all new head coaching hires seem to bring a measure of excitement.

But, rationally, and if I'm betting my life savings, I'm betting CJP will not make it here.

No, you're guessing, just like the rest of us. It's not any more rational than the pro Pruitt crowd. I understand that forums are places to state your opinions. I just wish more people knew the difference between opinion and fact.

Don't most people learn on the job? He has learned from one of the best High School coaches, two National title winning coaches including the best coach of all time. No coach will ever be 100% guaranteed to succeed.

So dumb..if he goes to bama that means we are winning big. They arent going to hire a loser. Quit worrying about coaches leaving, there are lots of coaches out there.

Theres no way to go but up. Almost anyone would have been an upgrade from butch. No more scratching our heads trying to figure out their dumbarse coaching mentality

just wondering why none of the assistant caches he worked with at Alabama wanted to come with him to Knoxville

Pruitt is being up graded to HC. If the assistants are not being upgraded or paid a lot more money why would they want to come.

I wonder if Clemson regrets giving dabo a chance?

I wonder if FL regrets giving Muschamp a chance? I wonder if Bama regrets give Shula a chance? See, for every one that succeeds as a first time head coach, I could probably give you two three maybe four that don't. Just the way it is. It's a hard task mastering the craft and winning championships first time around.

If none of them were ever given a chance then the great ones would never rise to the top.

Yep, so let them get their chance elsewhere and then come here after proving themselves. I mean we are a top 10-15 program all time. I still think we are a great job that can attract proven coaches. The money has to be there though.

Thomas is from Franklin and has undergrad from Lipscomb and graduate degree from UT. This gets him nearer to family, and more important, wife's family.

With your top 10-15 program all time, you are living in the past. Our football team has averaged more than 6 losses per year since Fulmer was fired. Not exactly a top 10-15 program.
