There aren’t many negavols as much as those of us that want JG on the bench or gone. He’s holding the offense back. We are tired of Friend and his inability to coach the OL and Weinke’s inability to coach the QB’s. Why aren’t the backups better prepared? Every team in the nation dealt with Covid 19 so next excuse. All of us want TN to do play well and win. A large portion of the Vol family is tired of the BS and excuses. The loses aren’t as much of a concern as much as who we are losing to and by how much. In year 3 of the rebuild we should be beating who we’re supposed to and closing the gap on the score board against Bama, GA, FL, etc......

This is like me asking "how am I going to spend all these millions I'm fixin' to win off of Powerball?" Both scenarios have about an equal chance of happening.

Why do so many care far more about being right than acting right?

Im no kind of CJP fan with regard to job he has done. However i fervently hope that he IS the guy and that this off week is when it all comes together and he leads this team on a 40 game win streak. Should that happen i will happily admit i was wrong about him and bless the day he showed up on campus.

Even thougn i am fairly confident he will be fired with in 26 months, being completely wrong about that would make me far happier than being right.

Im not so sure about that...

There were several who hated Butch Jones so much they said they would rather thr Vols lose games than keep him as the coach..those people can go diddle themselves as far as im concerned. They seemed to care more about the fact he was in the band in hs than the fact he actually had Neyland rocking again amd the Vols ranked.

Dont point to his last season to defend them...they were hating on CBJ long before that season went into the crapper. And were estatcic it did.

So....much like the OP, they cared far more about their predictions being right than the Vols winning. They seemed to revel in every misstep he and that 2017 team had and blew them out of proportion.


Do i think CBJ was a great HC?..nope...But he was a hell of a lot closer to being able to grow into one than our current HC.

So the negaVols got what they wanted and now we are getting embarrassed by Kentucky, Georgia St and BYU and the same ones are STILL blaming CBJ.

Though I agree in theory, we said same about Butch. Also Dabo did it with much weaker competition, and he had a lightning rod w/ Taj Boyd...if HB is up to the challenge, he could provide the upwards spark for us

Pruitt has zero evidence in his coaching career that he has any experience rebuilding a defense much less a team. Florida State was 2nd nationally in total defense the year before he arrived and 3rd nationally his only year at FSU. Georgia was 45th nationally in total defense the year before he arrived, 18th in his first season at UGA and 8th in his second season at UGA. Alabama was 2nd nationally in total defense the year before he arrived, 1st in his first season at UA and 2nd in his second season. He has never coached at a program that had little talent or terrible previous results. He may do a great job at UT but nothing in his past proves that he has any experience doing so

If after our last 15 plus yrs of suck all of a sudden turns around and we start kicking azz again then 1 of 2 things probably happened (a) we made another deal with the shadow figure or (b) hell it hath froze over.

He had a .500 year, and lost his bowl game in the 2nd year of his HC career. He had one loss of 20 points that year, and three of his losses were to top 25 teams, five of the seven loses were by less than a single TD.

Dabo's "struggles" in that single season, are literally nothing to the "stuggles" that Pruitt has had as HC.
