10 to 13 years are nothing. I have been a VOL fan for 55 years. Some of the whining and crying is a bit much. Yes, we lost 3 games. Were some of you thinking we would go undefeated this year? I wasn't. We should have beat KY but didn't. It happens. I think the only team in the SEC that hasn't had that happen this year is Bama. They will also get beat this year. But. when you start saying Butch is a better coach than Pruitt you just sound STUPID or DRUNK. Maybe both. SMH I get the disappointment. I hate losing as much as anyone, more than most.
If Disney could somehow capture the highs and lows of this website, they would have the best and fastest roller coaster in the world. GO VOLS

This. I don't think there's a soul among us who would resent a turnaround and to the program being successful. The mental gymnastics required to come to the conclusion otherwise are substantial.

I agree with the talent of the skill players but is the other true based on performance? And if all of this is true... what does it say about the coaches? The HC?

I never saw under Dooley or Jones recuiting, a stable ofSEC quality 300 pound linemen and tons of young talent loke I do now.

I wouldn't count you among them but there are a few people here that really have a hard time celebrating "successes".

Depends on whose expectations...

The problem the inhabitants of this board have is that they have no alternative frame of reference. The last time Tennessee was a good football team, this message board and social media didn't exist. There was no twitter or facebook or even myspace the last time Tennessee was good. Hell, the internet was still in its adolescence.

Alternatively, teams like Alabama have been so good for so long that nobody on the internet has ever seen a "mad Alabama fan", so they think Tennessee fans are somehow uniquely miserable which is entirely not the case. Unless you're old enough, you wouldn't know and therefor wouldn't know the other side of the story.

If Tennessee ever gets its head out of its own @ss then people would finally see what the rest of the world is actually like.

55 years for me too. I just don't usually get too high or too low. Been some really fun times and some rolling in the basement. But hopefully it didn't make us lose our prospective on life. I guess that's what I recoil at the most is just the sounds of hopelessness on this board by many posters. I say we reserve that for an apocalypse when the mountains fall down and the earth opens up and swallows half of mankind :cool::cool:.

Name one damn thing Pruitt has done better than Butch. It's not results, it's not recruiting, it's not development, it's not in game coaching and adjustments, it's not decision making...having a hard time thinking of one.

Our talent is young and have not had the time to develop in to the great players they will become. It takes 2 years to devlop an offesive lineman. A quarterback doesn't master an offense in a year. There are exceptions but the general rule is winning happens with Juniors and seniors.

Let's see. Pruitt got rid of the Pee Wee football sized line we had. He has recruited Too'Too and Bailey just to name a couple. JG is on Botch. Botch's coaching skills showed up as soon as Dobb's left. Botch had Kamara riding the bench most of his career here. In case you didn't know Kamara was Rookie of the Year in the NFL. Please reread what I said about how some of your comments make you look. I can't understand it for you. All I can do is try and explain it to you but I fear that is a waste. Butch? Is that you? Didn't know you were still here. LOL

Some QB's do master an offense as a freshman. The list is long and distinguished. Some QB's take 3-5 years to catch on...I'm not calling any names.

Some HC's never catch on.

You also didn’t see 12 of their first 30 games ending in a blow out loss......over 1/3rd of the games he’s coached (as a head coach).

The rest of us would be extremely happy if the team we loved got things turned around......but right now they simply aren’t. No matter how much you want it to be so.

If things don’t suddenly turn around are you going to change your screen name? You made an entire thread.....just to be a smart aleck.

Sry not everyone thinks the same way you do. Some of us love the Vols, and are tired of the mistakes, the bad losses, and all the crap and we vocalize it on here.

Well we have been waiting for 12 years now for that to happen so yes you are right that I have not idea how we will react wen we finally start whipping Bama, FL and GA tail consistently .. it has been so long

I think most of us (whose vision is not clouded by fandom or extreme disdain) can see the issues with the program and more recently with Coach Pruitt. I think I am a straight shooter and Pruitt has done some things very well - I think he has recruited well and other than the BYU game, he has done a very good job pulling out close victories. Those are two favorable traits to build on. With that being said, there's a lot of issues and concerns that existed in Y1G1 that still exist today. There's staff issues, there's preparation issues, there's halftime adjustment issues, there's personality issues, and there's program/micromanagement issues. Those have been pretty clear for the past 3 years and there hasn't been a lot of improvement in those areas. These are things that can be seen if your head isn't buried in the sand.

UT has Jrs and Srs.. Most teams in the SEC are playing young guys as much as UT is.
