We got the right coach

Well, I guess we should settle on the criteria for determining that a coach is "the right coach" after only 17 games...and in a complete rebuild of a program.
I wonder what UNC thought about Mack Brown after he went 1-10 in his first 2 seasons as their HC all those years ago.

I can't defend a 1-4 record that should be 3-2 right now for sure.

But CJP has this team playing much better FB when compared to our first game--exponentially better!

We lost 41-0 in 2017 at home to UGA...38-12 last year....and we were in this game at the end of the first half tonight in spite of the HUGE gap in talent and depth between us and UGA.

NO--I'm certainly not happy with a 29 point loss at home....but we're playing a true FR QB and 6 other FR on this team.
And their last score was because our true FR QB didn't recognize a corner blitz was coming...

Finishing 6-6 is still possible, but not likely. I think we can win 4 of the last 7 if our offense plays like it did for most of the 1st half tonight.

I would definitely feel better if we finish 6-6 and land a top 10--15 recruiting class.
The problem has always been the Defense. Ga state hung 38 on us. We have lost 3 of the 4 games due to catastrophic problems on D

I know it's heretical, but has anyone considered UGA probably came out a bit flat thinking this would be a walkover? Once they realized it was a fight, they pulled their other arm out from behind their back and clobbered us. If the Dawgs had played their best for 4 quarters, nobody would be claiming to have seen improvement in a 29-point beatdown.

If you have not saw improvement then you must stay drunk.

If your bar is set that low then all I can say is bless your heart!. DO YOU UNDERSTAND WE GOT BEAT BY 29 PTS AT HOME??????. Improvement and getting hammered by 25 points at home should never ever be mentioned in the same sentence.

If the effort we saw last night had been there the entire season, then this team would be 3-2 right now.

The series that stood out for me was the Georgia drive in the third quarter where the defense stopped Georgia on a 4th and 1. Those guys were flat out wore out, seeing no sign of life from their offense, and yet still managed to pull something deep from within them to make a key play. That was a level of hunger and teamwork I have wanted to see all year long.

Last night was better across the board. But the desire to win and the aggression that comes with it should have been seen with the first kick off in August.

This will make the Mississippi State game a pretty good indicator of where this team is right now in its development.

Are we the team that put up a fight and displayed tenacity against a top five program?

Or is it the team that laid down and died against a bottom five program?

The wimp of the conference got up, stepped into the ring, and threw some good punches against an actual contender.

Let's see what he can do this time out against an opponent that is closer to him in ability.

I have no problem giving credit when we improve.

But for God's sake, is there not some ground between "fire him" and "he's the right guy"? There's no way in hell you can say he's definitey proven he's "the guy".
Agree, we don't know if he's the right guy. But, only a blind person would say we are not improving. Time will tell. GBO!

Until we ran out of gas we held due to depth they held a high powered offense to 3pts. One that scored 26 in the first half. Gave offense chances to make it a game. We're starting a fresh QB with no run game against a top 5 defense.

But continue with your crying
Sorry but not everybody likes losing like you do

They've just got an agenda, and they see it as their duty to just come on here and spin everything. It's exhausting and makes any sensible discussion damn near impossible.
I totally agree. Sometimes I question if these are really Tennessee fans. Sometimes I wonder if these people aren't plants by the administration to come out here and say support the coach. If they really are true fans then we are really in trouble. It goes to show we have a losing fan base as well as a losing team and we don't demand better so we don't deserve better. Schools like Alabama and Florida they get it right because their fan base demands it. We have fans that want to celebrate because we win the coin toss. Very frustrating.

Wide Receiver U has now become " Moral Victory U" or "We Won The First Quarter U".

Gotta get better at d-line, got a QB to work with finally! I’m giving Pruitt time. We can’t continuously keep starting over.
I totally agree here.I thight the OL played in the first half a whole lot better, especially Kennedy and took it to UGA's DL a few times. Kennedy ain't skeered of nobody bank that. We don't need a world beater at QB to be successful, we just need one who does not make the big mistake with turnovers and taking sacks, Maurer was serviceable on offense until he became a mistake machine and our wheels fell off. But our DL guys just do not put any pressure on the QB. He can stay back there whether Ga St or UGA and take his sweet time for the most part awaiting receivers to get open.

When is going to start?
It's like when you have your best friend that falls in love with the girl you know it's nothing but trouble. You try to warn him but he won't listen. That's how these Pruitt lovers are. There's something about them that they are just very attracted to. They have strong man crushes on the guy. There's nothing you can say or nothing he can do that's going to change their minds. They just want that one shot.

I know, right? I mean we were just playing the THIRD ranked team in the COUNTRY. With arguably the most talented roster in the COUNTRY. Who haven’t allowed ONE SINGLE rushing TD all season. I mean it’s not like they had anything to do with shutting down our running game and letting the FRESHMAN QB in his FIRST start beat them. Or influencing anything else the team may have planned to do. If we had a real head coach/staff they would’ve beat UGA with this roster. Jesus what is this staff doing?

The level of STUPID around here has risen to near insufferable levels.

According to your post, there was absolutely no reason to play the game.

You think Clem Isn’t as physical as UGA? Clem is not challenged in the ACC, they have 1-2 games each season where they are not motivated and play down to the opponent. Happens every year. Then watch them when they play a Bama, OK or OSU...they don’t take a back seat in physicality to anyone, ask Bama. UGA hasn’t yet risen yet to the level Clem is currently at, and if they played Clem would be favored.

Clemson team Bama played was last yr. Clemson this year isn’t near as physical this year.

I saw Improvement tonight, we just didn't have enough mules. Pruitt is going to build us a team. I like what I saw and the potential for down the road.
I came close to reporting you. You're obviously losing it and I am genuinely concerned about your mental health.
