Von Pearson Update

Oh, I agree. I don't think 90% of rape accusers are consciously lying. I think a good number are, but I also think a lot of people are essentially confused (e.g., subjectively feel violated and erroneously equate that with rape, can't exactly recall what happened and fill in the details with "rape," etc.).

90% of the time they are wrong 60% of the time.

If exposing yourself equals rape I need to report about 1500 ladies from Bourbon St last Mardi Gras in New Orleans. I feel so violated...

Is it really that big of a deal if you are out drinking late into the night (in college even) and you only expose yourself to the opposite sex? May be it was just the good ole 70's and 80's when I grew up, but that happened quite a bit on both sides of the chromosomes. It was usually in fun and girls did it as much as the guys. I don't recall the police ever getting involved. ..... Signed Cletus T. Ray, Jr..-- Prisoner 125620 Brushy Mtn State Pen

Well I was thinking about how to respond and I got to how you signed off. Now I don't know how to respond lol.

I'm not saying it is on equal grounds with rape but it's still poor character. I'm sure there are times when something like that would be accepted, like you describe. But, there is probably a time when it's funny and in good fun, and there's a time where you send a girl off crying in the street at 4am. Exposing yourself is going to be harassment as long as it's taken as such (for males especially. Whether that is right or wrong is irrelevant). And for me, that's far from ok. I would be furious if the girl had been someone close to me.

So if it is not rape but just exposing ones self to a woman (at 4 am) on the street; does that make it OK and he should continue his career at UT? Not sure that is the type of player I would want representing my school. I think you learn to keep your junk in your pants around 1st or 2nd grade at the latest. If he still struggles with it in college, then there are deeper issues there.

I hate when it gets blown out of proportion and worn out, but do you object to Peyton Manning representing your school? :hmm:

Only if two cheeks equals one frank and beans.
Apples and oranges, I guess.

Allegedly the cheeks, frank and beans were all part of the trainer's welcome package.

Good reply. Certainly not a proud moment for PM or UT for sure. But I'm not sure anyone filed a complaint either over their observations of PM's raw butt. And I believe there was a quick act of contrition on PM's part as well.

Like the guy above said, Apples and Oranges...Manning mildly offended the person he mooned.

The witness in the Pearson incident said the alleged victim was "extremely distraught" when they encountered her at 4am. If there was any force involved it makes it a lot worse than simply "whipping it out". If Pearson tried to grab her while he was exposed you can imagine how frightened this young girl would have been.

If exposing is rape, your avatar is on the verge of raping the entire board!!:good!:

Actually it resulted in a judgement of $300,000 to a female trainer! So, yes the incident did result in a complaint and lawsuit.

Since he gave the school 3 mill, I forgive him :)

That is some jacked up math. I think I would be skipping that class.

My original understanding of the Peyton incident was that he mooned a teammate in the locker room and she was "mildly offended" enough to receive a six figure settlement. Since then it's been expanded to he rested his whole junk on her head when she was assisting another player. I don't know what's actually true, but I regard Peyton as the personification of class. I regurgitated this whole mess in response to someone not wanting VP to be a representative of UT if he ended up merely guilty of exposing himself as opposed to rape. Guess the point I was going for?

I think he tea bagged her. She didn't get a huge settlement and non-disclosure agreement for a mooning.
