Just remember that he hasn't been charged. Also doesn't look like he will be charged.

Keeping eligibility was a big concern. Much more optimistic now.

Don't know the details about what happened with the whole thing to begin with, but it's starting to look like there's not any legs to the deal.

Obligatory well if he did it he should fry comment.

Man I hope Von was just falsely accused. We need him on our team in the worst kind of way. When healthy, he has shown flashes of being a game changer. He definitely looked to be our most explosive/elusive WR last season in the limited action we got to see him play while healthy.

For those who subscribe to the GoVolsxtra 24/7, there is supposed to be updated info about Von. All they would say in the free part on Knoxville News Sentinel is that it is not as bad as thought earlier.

I think Hubbs (maybe Rucker) initially came out and was saying that grades could have become an issue. There was concern that he may not be able to take his final exams as he could have been kept out of the classroom if charges were filed. Obviously charges have not "yet" been filed and may not be filed, so he was able to participate in finals.

If you remember, the guy that broke the story here on VN said he and his buddies were out at 4am when they ran into the alleged victim and at that point she accused Von of exposing himself to her - there was no mention of RAPE at that time.Sounds like the police are getting to the bottom of this incident, and it will not be as bad as it could have been.

What has to go through someone's head for them to think that is a good idea? :crazy:

I've had more than my fair share of drink and have done plenty of stupid things but nothing like this. If that story is found to be true, then I wouldn't fault anyone but Von if he is not allowed back on the team. And that is sad to say. I was as excited as anyone else about his potential this season

No, but he was accused of rape, which means he raped that girl. Am I doing it right? ;)

From the very beginning I have said the the police need to follow up on the initial reports of what the alleged victim said, I even encouraged the guy who broke the story here on VN to go to the police with his info.

We don't even know what the alleged victim's statement was to the police, so don't act like you're vindicated.

My beef with you, and always will be, is your opinion that "90% of rape accusers are not credible". It's not fact, and you never proved it to be. It's sad that you think that way.

I'd say that would have to do with what question was asked and how the answers were collated.

On the simple question of "Did she say she was raped but was not telling the truth?".... a 90% number is high. Again, I think both of you tried to simplify an issue beyond the point where it can be accurately understood. Sometimes complex things just don't lend themselves to simplification.

Is it really that big of a deal if you are out drinking late into the night (in college even) and you only expose yourself to the opposite sex? May be it was just the good ole 70's and 80's when I grew up, but that happened quite a bit on both sides of the chromosomes. It was usually in fun and girls did it as much as the guys. Oh, I agree. I don't think 90% of rape accusers are consciously lying. I think a good number are, but I also think a lot of people are essentially confused (e.g., subjectively feel violated and erroneously equate that with rape, can't exactly recall what happened and fill in the details with "rape," etc.).
