It is interesting to watch. I think they are quite confused at the moment. I'm torn on the subject because I think its being done (or attempted) for good but.... 1.) i don't think all this works in any way 2.) even if it did, its the ends justifies the means on some level

Its hard to know how to feel.

The issue with MAGA is that theyvwere so vocally against this stuff. Don't write checks you can't cash. There have been multiple offenses by Trump like this lately where he has gone 180 against something he advocated during his campaigning.

Of course I didn’t go through the entire process of intel gathering and how it’s meted out, but yes, it’s very layered. My point was/is, what do you do in the same circumstance?

Me personally, I would listen to the room first on what decisions to take.

doesn't change the conversation. part of a military's strength is its ability to invade islands if they want to actually take that island. if they can't take an island, then clearly there is a weakness in said military making them too weak to do their job.

Or you just win by not fighting. Trump got what he wanted and it barely took a weapon. If they don't have cooperation, they just shut everything down until moral improves.

Ok. I don’t necessarily disagree. But, by and large, who appointed the people in the room? Imagine Bidens room vs Trumps room (2). Reagan’s vs Carter, Obama vs Bush. Thus far, the room has impressed me.

You have to truly insane to believe China hasn’t taken Taiwan because they don’t believe they have a “right” to do so.

China isn’t looking to us for moral or legal clarity. They will continue to act in their own interest. And this action makes them less likely to consider trying to take Taiwan

Taiwan is recognized by all the major players as being a part of China. The South didn't want to be a part of the U.S. Same thing. They can fight it out, I have no problem with that but all of that is immaterial.

I'm not sure there will be much fighting to be honest. I just look at it as internal politics. I mean what do you think your State is going to do, if you build a fence and you have a DOT right of way on your property and you post armed guards and don't let DOT on the property? You're going to lose.

Unless you can come to an agreement, you going to have to fight for your independence - see 1776.

If not for China, the U.S. could come in there and take over right now.

It is a mixed bag. It could very well be that removing Maduro was a good side benefit to the real reason. I still feel that stopping China's play in the region figures into this very strongly.

And Russia's. And Iran's.

Also, there has been reports of US intel that Maduro emptied his prisons and mental asylums into the US for the express purpose of destabilizing the country, as well as reports that one of Maduro's captured higher-ups has been stating that Maduro tailored the drug trade to the US especially to kill Americans and destabilize our society--all in coordination with Chinese and Russian motives/direction.

If those are true, this was a regime that was actively and continually attacking America while crushing the civil rights of the country it had kidnapped.

Exactly. So if you appoint smart, moral, ethical people you get good decisions. If you appoint based on anything other than that you put your decisions in the hands of people who have an agenda. I believe Trump learned from his 1st term. Biden didn’t have an excuse, he was in politics for 40 years and still chose some real losers based on appearances.

Can you post specific quotes? I'm not sure that "America-First" ever stated "No foreign conflicts", as much as Hemispheric Dominance and "only conflicts that benefit/protect America".

Trump has to get this right, I know I’m stating the obvious, but a failure here will lead to a Bernie acolyte as our next president. They’re gonna go as far left as they can if this is a flop. Huge gamble. On a side note, politics aside, I pray the Venezuelan people get what they deserve.. I saw something that showed that the population lost 19% in body weight after socialization kicked in.

I'm certain I am in the minority opinion on this but I think it is a remarkable shift in rhetoric. I don't think DJT embraces an ideology outside of 'I do what I want'.
