Thats usually the way these things are sold to the American people.
It shouldn't be "sold". It should just happen. No fanfare, no advertisement... no talking about it after it happens. The official line should be that of surprise.

Maduro is an evil POS that has murdered thousands and ruined millions of lives. He needs to meet God.

How many US presidents does that apply to too? By the way who has he murdered and ruined the lives of? No doubt he's a bastage but I haven't noticed any acts of war from him toward us.
Maybe it's time we start abiding by our rhetoric about self determination not just when it fits our objectives.

This is for the good of humanity. It would be better if we would just send in a covert team and quietly kill him, but....

This is my opinion too. 3rd largest proven oil reserves in the world and yet those people have been actually starving due to terrible Socialist government. Also thousands upon thousands of illegals here now for same reason. No thanks. Wish he just caught a rifle round though. Trump knows better than to put US troops in harms way down there. Hopefully Argentina will get rid of Maduro. Let us give them intel and they can take him out. No blood or treasure spent on Venezuela. Getting Socialism/Communism out of central and South America is a good thing. Limiting Chinese influence in the Western Hemisphere is also a good thing.

Here are actual quotes and documented statements where Donald Trump has explicitly said he would not start new wars and emphasized an “America First” foreign policy that rejects unnecessary foreign entanglements — especially in the context of “no new wars”:

📌 Direct Statements by Trump

1. “I am especially proud to be the first President in decades who has started no new wars.”
— Donald Trump, Farewell address, January 2021 (video statement). (Climate Depot)

This line was widely repeated by Trump and his supporters as a summary of his foreign policy during his first term. (Climate Depot)

2. “I’m not going to start wars — I’m going to stop wars.”
— Quoted in media coverage of his post-election rhetoric in 2024/25. (Financial Times)

This was part of his victory speech narrative in 2024 and reinforced his anti-war messaging for voters tired of “forever wars.” (Financial Times)

3. “No new wars.”
— At a rally (Montoursville, PA), Trump said:

“I’m proud to be the first president in decades who has started no new wars. No new wars.” (Rev)

📌 Context of “America First” Foreign Policy

While not exact single-sentence quotes, multiple sources describe Trump tying his “no new wars” pledge directly to his America First worldview:

4. “On his watch, there would be no new wars.”
— Report on Trump’s America First foreign policy platform, noting he ran on ending the U.S. as the world’s policeman and avoiding new foreign wars. (WSLS)

This theme — that the U.S. should not engage in unnecessary foreign entanglements — was central to his messaging in both 2016 and 2024/25 campaigns. (WSLS)

🧾 Summary of How Trump Framed It

Across speeches and interviews, Trump repeatedly linked these ideas:

  • He claimed the U.S. would not start new wars, unlike prior administrations. (Climate Depot)
  • He said his foreign policy prioritized ending wars or bringing troops home. (Washington Examiner)
  • He used “America First” to mean the U.S. should avoid foreign entanglements and endless military interventions. (WSLS)

If you want, I can also provide specific campaign speeches or interview transcripts where these “no new wars” and America First themes are tied to particular conflicts (e.g., Syria, Iraq, NATO, Ukraine).

man I bet you are still defending our invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan. Your boy just rinses off the same old BS and you buy into it because Orange man said it.

remember what happened when we introduced Democracy to Iraq? Are fairly stable country at the time? We got ISIS, a two decade war that lead to thousands of dead Americans with nothing to show, and a destabilized region. you really want to do that again? Several thousand miles closer to home?

Maduro is not a hero to those on the right as he is to those on the left

What's truly hilarious about this statement, is that if Maduro bought $50 million in Trump crypto today, and offered Trump and his family stakes in Venezuela's oil fields, then Trump would instantly start singing Maduro's praises, and you'd follow suit.

The Venezuelans have discovered TACO.

While the first two oil tankers that we attempted to intercept we did so successfully, a third large tanker simply didn't stop and kept on going. At this point it has effectively escaped.

Trump Always Chickens Out.

What exactly would our troops do about that in the future? Are we going to really blow up a super tanker with millions of gallons of oil and cause an ecological disaster? That doesn't seem very bright and I'm pretty sure most people around the world would hate us for that. What's the other alternative? Are we going to land our young military men and women on there with guns ablazing? That doesn't seem too bright either.

Trump promised us no new wars. This is fact established fact and anybody who argues otherwise is lying to themselves. Yet here we are on the precipice of open war with Venezuela over what?

(Hint: Rhymes with oil)

Or are we now back in the business of "nation building"? That went over really well in Afghanistan.

What say ye MAGA nutballs?

I know lots of Americans who have done drugs, and quite a few people who have died from them, and they were all American, all of them, even though I've spent much of my adult life outside of the US. Mao in China, Duterte in the Philippines, Lee in Singapore, those guys actually greatly reduced the volume of drugs in their countries by targeting people bringing them in and/or possessing them in their countries. Trump isn't reducing the amount of dope dealers or crack whores in the USA. At best, he's merely helping the Venezuelans' competition in Mexico and elsewhere, doing them a huge favor by giving them a bigger share of the market. If Trump was genuinely serious about reducing fentanyl in the USA, he'd outlaw the prescription of opioids as pain killers. I was prescribed Percocet by a doctor in Lawton, Oklahoma a quarter century ago, when I was a young man for a very minor issue. I didn't take any of them, fortunately, so I didn't get addicted to opioids. I was prescribed pain killers outside of the USA after a vasectomy, an appendectomy, and a hernia operation, but I was never prescribed opioids outside of the USA. It's insane that they're prescribed in the USA so often. They shouldn't be, as it's a root cause of the massive amounts of opioid deaths in the US. People in nearly all other developed nations live longer than Americans and they rarely need opioids outside of a hospital or hospice setting. Trump doesn't want to step on the toes of his billionaire buddies in Big Pharma. He doesn't care about Americans hooked on opioids or dying from fentanyl. He doesn't care about them or that. It's all about money.
the flow of rx opioids has already been throttled and is a primary feature of the fentanyl crisis. They flooded the market then cut us off. Many turned to heroin. You can't really even get heroin anymore. its all fetty.

You can get codeine OTC in plenty countries.

Draconian drug policy solves the problem by substituting the brutality of the black market with the brutality of the state.

You some kinda weeb or something?

US Military Moves Additional Special-Ops Aircraft, Troops into Caribbean as Trump hikes pressure on Venezuela’s Maduro

The US military has moved a large number of special-operations aircraft, troops and equipment into the Caribbean as President Trump openly considers military action to oust Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro, according to a new report.

At least 10 CV-22 Osprey tilt-rotor aircraft, used by special-operations forces, arrived in the region Monday night from Cannon Air Force Base in New Mexico, an official told the Wall Street Journal.

C-17 cargo aircraft from the Fort Stewart and Fort Campbell Army bases also landed in Puerto Rico the same day, according to flight tracking data reviewed by the paper.

Military personnel and equipment were also transported on planes, a different US official said, although it remains unclear exactly what kind of troops were moved.

The 27th Special Operations Wing and 160th Special Operations Aviation are specially trained to provide close air and combat support for dangerous infiltration and extraction missions, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Millions of Venezuelans who have gone from (at least) middleclass to poverty say 'hi'.

And whether or not it fits our objectives, it just might be the right thing to do. Hitler wasn't "our" problem for some time, but if we could go back, would we kill his pregnant momma if we could?

Monroe Doctrine. Venezuela is basically just across our pond. They are sponsoring criminal gangs, trafficking drugs, and financial terrorism.
It’s in our self interest to take care of this particular regime.
