Monroe Doctrine. Venezuela is basically just across our pond. They are sponsoring criminal gangs, trafficking drugs, and financial terrorism.
It’s in our self interest to take care of this particular regime.

The Monroe Doctrine has nothing to do with what Trump is doing in Venezuela.

You're just looking for reasons to flipflop on your "no new wars" stance and support Trump's adventurism.

Millions of Venezuelans who have gone from (at least) middleclass to poverty say 'hi'.

And whether or not it fits our objectives, it just might be the right thing to do. Hitler wasn't "our" problem for some time, but if we could go back, would we kill his pregnant momma if we could?
That's very bleeding heart of you. I'm impressed. How often does one of our regime changes result in an improved quality of life for the afflicted population or betterment of the world? Chavez and his bunch of clowns for sure didn't and don't know how to manage a country. But it's not our place to force our solution, which for sure would help our overlords a whole lot more than it would help them, on the Venezuelan people.

Didn't you learn in the 7th grade that we ourselves voided the Monroe Doctrine by getting involved in the Old World's affairs?

In Venezuela, we're not talking about installing a puppet leader favorable to our administration ("forcing our solution"). We're talking about installing the duly elected leader of the country, who won the election in a landslide.

Your input is noted Mr Chamberlain

Who's been talking about that? I see a lot of bluster from the White House but haven't seen talk of installing anyone in particular. And that would still be our solution. Do you think we can just escort someone to their presidential palace and be done with things?

So Trump nut-huggers...

You support this new war given The Donald promised you no new wars?

Us bombing mainland Venezuela... yeah, that's war.
This isn't a fight against the country of Venezuela; it's against drug cartels. If it was a fight against the Venezuela country the military and government infrastructure inside Venezuela would be 10x worse than Gaza right about now. Of course, if the fake Venezuela president would like to declare war against the US go ahead see where that gets him. Either way his days are number since he is part of the cartels. Trump said over and over during his campaign what he was going to do against the US drug problem and one reason why he was elected. He's keeping his promise

This isnt doing anything about the drug problem in the us. We're concerned with opioids not cocaine. These drugs are destined for europe not the us.

These same cartels are influential in many central and south american govts. Why aren't we taking these same criminal measures with them?

If you dont get this is setup to cause the powers of central and south america to rise against us in a future world war, you should.
