He’s not a bust and he is showing improvement. But in the NIL era when you pay a guy multimillions for him to come play one season, he should carry your team on his shoulders. Ament is not close to being able to do that.

You take chance on a guy that highly rated 10/10 times. Had we not signed him due to the money amount, and he was putting up the same stat line, people would be b!tching and complaining about Tennessee cheaping out.

Barnes should take a pay cut to make $1m next season and use current NIL number plus the $6m pay cut and just go all out in the portal this offseason for one final season to make a run at a natty. lol.

We had Bruce Pearl and Rick Barnes for 17 combined years and never sniffed a title.

It’s never happening.

Pearl benefitted from his UT reputation while at Auburn and had much better teams that fit his style better while there. Pearl's tenure had lot of highs but not close to the high level of consistency under Barnes.

Barnes has typically had good leaders that inspire their teammates and hold them accountable. I honestly don’t think that exists on this team. I thought maybe that was Estrella at the beginning of the season, but he‘s become a wilting flower lately.

I think we’re starting to miss Cade Phillips leadership.

This is just me but if Barnes were to retire I would love to see them at least reach out to Jay Wright just to see if he would even consider coming out of retirement. Very unlikely I know, but it's worth the ask in my opinion.
