If you have $4400 to burn and want the epitome of your cover doesn't matter, the Heavy Counter Assault Rifle (HCAR) by Ohio Ordinance Works is pretty sweet. It is my dream rifle that is not in the .50 BMG range.

Ok. Got my AR pistol together. Shoots fine but bolt doesn't cycle. I assume my gas tube alignment is off. Thoughts.

I adjusted the gas block. I forced air down the barrel and moved it around until least resistant amount was felt. And tightened screws down. It got to where it would eject the shell but not hold back on empty or reload the second round.

Kalishnikovs do not have this issue, is good Russian Weapon.

What rounds are you using? Additionally, it could be a "break in" period that some ARs go through.

It still sounds like a pressure issue. Gas port might not be large enough either. Pistols and SBRs are really picky when it comes to port size as there generally isn't enough dwell time in order to get the proper pressure to reliably cycle the actions. Too small and you end up with malfunctions. Too large and you end up with overgassing and it cycling too quickly. There is a "just right" zone with port size when it comes to that length of barrel.

Dare I say it's wolf? All I've got. It cycled a couple of time then stopped. My other AR eats the wolf like there's no tomorrow.

16 inch barrels are a bit more forgiving.

Pick up some M193 spec stuff and try running it. Lube the crap out of the BCG and try running something a bit hotter.

It's definitely short stroking. It won't hold back on an empty mag. It's a standard carbine length gas tube. I'm not 100% sure of my alignment but not sure how to insure other than previously mentioned way. I may try adjusting again.

Update: I changed the BCG from my other AR and the pistol ran flawlessly. I put the new BCG in my old AR and it ran fine too. What gives?

Break in period. The anodizing on the BCG and/or the receiver can prohibit the movement of the actions.

Lube the crap out of it, shoot some hotter stuff (M193) about 150 rounds worth, clean, have fun.
