OK- show of hands - how many people want Dooley back?

I have always liked Dooley and still do but don't want him back. As long as Butch is recruiting at this level he needs to stay - even though I think Dooley is far better offensive coach. Defense on the other hand? Let's not bring that up. :cray:

Barring multiple major injuries, nobody should.

I will keep supporting Butch as long as he keeps recruiting at this level. Because sooner or later the talent should take over and make up for his coaching deficiencies (at least I hope so).

So what that tells me is that Butch can't do any better than Dooley and Butch has all the talent in the world!!! We really are going downhill fast....1-1 this year so far.....hmmmmmm.

The very fact that people have to compare to Dooley to justify Butch's lack of wins is itself evidence that he is not getting it done.
Wow. No one is comparing him to Dooley to defend him. You knee jerk folks are comparing him to Dooley as proof he's no good.
You don't have a very good reading comprehension do you.

Will you still support CBJ if we go 7-5? Just curious.

Everything is relative. There's zero way to answer that right now

Will you continue to claim there is little difference right now between Dooley and Butch?

just be patient for 10 more games and it will be over
Butch continues or Butch on the hot seat
still plenty of time to win the target 8 games
FL is not one of the 8

You still failed to address the issue of what Dooley left for the next coach. Those 27 games you're counting include many played with what was left over from the Dooley experiment

Come on, tell us what you were truly thinking when you started this thread!

Someone's getting testy! How long will we keep repeating the "empty cupboard" excuse? I will totally buy that after year 1. I'll even give it to you after year 2. But this is year 3, lets get with the program. What's the excuse if we lose to Florida? McElwain has been left with an empty cupboard and is in year 1, what's the excuse then? It's year 3, it's time to separate himself from Dooley's record, different situation or not..

UF has some issues. But they are NOWHERE NEAR the dumpster fire UT was when CBJ got here. To say otherwise is foolish.

People aren't blaming Dooley for the record this year. They're only speaking based on this dumb comparison of 27 games each. It's relevant.

Donkeys best season was his first. He got worse each year -- much like Bill Battle did with Doug Dickey's players

By contrast, Butch had a losing record in his first year with Dooley's players and has gotten better since then

Enjoy dwelling on them having the same record for now -- by year end Butch will be pulling ahead and will continue to improve on it again next year

He got to Florida late in the recruiting cycle after 2 horrible years by Muschamp. Saying it isn't exactly as bad as the Dooley situation is a moot point. He is a first year coach that was left with a pretty bad situation, and here we are in year 3 with an infusion of a lot of talent.

I see you already have the excuses ready if we lose to Florida, good to know.

The numbers may be the same at the moment, but the character of the records couldn't be more different. You knew CVD would never get any better; CBJ is on his way up. The program atmosphere is 1000% better now. There's reason for confidence.

Facts seem to bother all of you "Fahr Butch" guys. Look at the recruiting classes Muschamp had vs Dooley.
I'll type this slower to help you out.
UF has some issues (here's the crucial part so pay attention) but not nearly as bad as the utter dumpster fire Butch walked into.
