Salter released from team

Guys like Salter remind me of those NFL prospects who can't lay off the weed long enough to clear it from their systems prior to the NFL combine urinalysis and literally piss away millions because their draft stock plummets. They know its coming but the pull of the devil's lettuce is too great.
Pig Howard. Lol I literally smoked with him a couple times. Dude was still talking about the NFL several years after being kicked off the team

This wasn’t just about weed. This was absolutely dumbass behavior that goes way beyond smoking some weed.

what was the dumbass behavior? I get he got in trouble previously, but it seems to me he was kicked off the team because of possession of.....................weed.

its 2021--perhaps it about time to decriminalize marijuana.

It should be decriminalized, but that's beside the point.

He was arrested on the basis of possession, but that's not why he got pulled over.

Have to separate what should happen to him legally versus what should happen to him on the team. Legally, I don't think he should get in trouble for merely possessing marijuana. But from a team perspective, dude is clearly engaging in a lot of reckless behavior and doesn't have his head in the right place. I have no issue with him being kicked off the team after this.

I’m starting to think his family isn’t all that embarrassed. Most likely they’ve been aware of his lousy attitude and haven’t made any real attempts to fix it as he grew up.
Oh, BS. You don’t know anything about what they’ve been trying to do privately. Just because nothing was publicly played out for us to drool over doesn’t mean that they haven’t been doing their damndest.

Honestly, sometimes this board.

This is twice he's been arrested recently, part of a robbery in one, ignorant posts on social media. This isn't just because he had a little weed. He's got a bad pattern going, and obviously no intention of changing.

And sometimes, the family has tried everything they know to try but the lure of substances is simply too strong. Hope they find the right buttons to push and the kid gets clean both physically and mentally before it's an outcome that turns from embarrassing to tragic. There is no greater sorrow in this world than for a parent to bury a child. It's as if the light in this world goes dim and never comes back. Praying for this kid and his family. Really, really hope it works out for them...and I'm not speaking of football.
Amen.

Yeah.

Not sure why so many on here think he just pops up somewhere esle and starts balling out.

Nobody noteworthy is going to recruit this kid.

He is 17. Skipped senior year. Some kids can do that, for most it’s a huge challenge and temptation.

He will grow up a lot in the next 12-18 months. We all did. I hope for the best for him.

My money is on OK. They seem to often end up with our challenges.

You're right sport. Memphis is now safer than 1% of US cities. Not much to worry about for a kid who seemingly goes looking for trouble.
I caught your sarcasm. Yeah...the way things are playing out in Memphis a good long HOT summer in Memphis will be just the culture KS needs to bring him around :rolleyes:. And I think all the talk of legal vs not legal etc.. is GREATLY missing the entire issue here.
