What is really sad is neither of those are true with Pruitt, and at the very least, it was discussed bringing him back.

We really don't know what Pruitt is capable of, only what he's demonstrated so far. But the truth is, regardless of the endless drone of "we're forever doomed", that as along as Tennessee (the university, not Coach XYZ) is capable of pulling top 10 classes and filling the General's house, we are one decent hire from success. Since much of that reality is driven by regional demographics, it will remain true for the forseeable future.

Reversion to the mean is a real thing. We may or may not be Bama, but we absolutely aren't Vandy either, despite what the wrist cutters say.

Do Steele/Marrone/Mahlzan get you excited about Spring? Because those are Tennessee hires most likely.
I think we hire someone different but we’ll see.

Malzahn with the right staff would definitely excite me. He’s never had a losing season in the most difficult division in all of college football, made it to a National Championship and beat Saban three times. We could do a lot worse.

Social media is a cesspool. If you are in the public eye AT ALL, you better have a firm communicating for you.

This is the world we live in with cancel culture. IMO it's truly ruining our society.

Now back to the firing of the Gump...
It is not ruining, it has already ruined it.

Listening to Basilio, I'm not sure it's as dysfunctional as it appears. He believes that the new admin over there, especially Boyd and Plowman, know what they're doing. he believes we're going to Texas this thing and try to have our guy in place. I think making Friend pay his buyout shows there is some different leadership over there.

We have a coach dangling in the wind as to his future here which will effect whether or not we get transfers or recruits. Nothing about this situation screams that our admin "know what they're doing". Not to mention the leaking to the press about the investigation. We're still dysfunctional.

If that’s the case then maybe just maybe we make the call?
The problem is it is just as much freezes decision as it is UT’s. When Freeze said this was his dream job it was just an underperforming program. Now it will be a rebuild, with possible sanctions and ncaa scrutiny and if you really want to continue to rehab your image do you now find this to still be your dream destination?

Tn is trying to run the clock out and use the investigation as an excuse to why its too late in the process to find a new coach and to save the recruiting. Tn creates its own mess.

maybe not but maybe he knows what he could do with the brand and the resources that would be available to him.

It’s really not that hard not to type out like you are an emotional child.... even if you don’t get in trouble.... what does a tweet like that accomplish?
Freedom is truly dead and you applaud it..People's Iives should not be ruined over petty **** like this. That is what is the disgrace, not someone having a brain fart and getting crucified and their life destroyed for nothing.

If this is a big nothing burger he can sue and get access to their emails and cellphones.

Yeah, I dont see the attraction of that possibility for UT.
If UT and its $ want to move on they dont need the results of the investigation.

Im still of the idea they are fine with moving on if he has involvement in any repercussions from whatever they find. If not, they re not jumping up and down to fire right now. They could have already done that.

Thought he was the front runner for Bama OC?
If they want a man who can put it back together he’s definitely the pick.

Big time meh.

His players in Houston hated him and he ran off the best ones. Burned every bridge he saw in that town. He would jump from this job the first chance he got to get back in the NFL.

Bama OC is a fine spot for him.

This entire end-of-the-world scenario dissolves within days of a good hire. Most of this "crisis" is being created by VN, VQ, and Vol Twitter talking about how much of a crisis it is.

That changes If you make the right hire.

What if the domino picture was others waiting to see who we hired? The rignt hire transfers come the wrong one and we get none.
