It's both.

Tennessee wants to fire Jeremy Pruitt because he is not a good football coach. When they got wind of potential NCAA issues, they hired a respected and thorough person (Glazier) to find dirt. When he finds something, anything, they will use it to their advantage.

Pruitt will then sue to argue he should still be paid his full buyout. UT will say "this wasn't our investigation, a third party found all these issues."

The truth will be somewhere in the middle - both parties will settle at some point.

So you're repeating back to me what I've been saying for weeks?

Social media is a cesspool. If you are in the public eye AT ALL, you better have a firm communicating for you.

This is the world we live in with cancel culture. IMO it's truly ruining our society.

Now back to the firing of the Gump...
It’s really not that hard not to type out like you are an emotional child.... even if you don’t get in trouble.... what does a tweet like that accomplish?

The internal investigation already told them what they needed to know. Is the expectation that outside counsel finds something different, or simply adds credibility to the internal findings? I would tend toward the latter.

Third party "unbiased" findings would carry more weight in a for cause type of separation agreement.

Just a few days ago you were laughing at everyone and being smug about "what made everyone accept the inevitable?" when we all felt like Pruitt was coming back.

I have no doubts you are well-sourced and in a position where you get legitimate information, however, you have bounced around as much as anyone else.

The only thing is for certain is that with each day and nothing happens one way or the other, the more damage is done to the program. With each day it becomes more and more difficult to hire a top shelf candidate. With each day it becomes more difficult to attract quality transfers. With each day that passes the administration becomes more of a laughing stock to the national media.

I’m not saying he would be my pick but y’all crapping on hiring a coach that took the Jags to the AFC Championship Game with Blake f’ing Bortles at QB after the losers we’ve trotted out there the last decade are coo coo.
No...wanting a dude that has a career winning percentage around .400 as a head coach within a hundred miles if the UT job is what's coo coo.

I doubt we have anybody waiting in the wings. We are Tennessee after all.

We are about to make auburn/SC look like amateurs at botching up the next hire. Make no mistake, we set the standard. If somebody else threatens to outdo our crappy mismanaged searches, we step up to the challenge and have a crappier one. We don’t run second place to anyone.

LA has always maintained that the investigation would determine Pruitt's fate.

What worries me is that during all of this silence they have been seeking a "Texas solution" behind the scenes and haven't found any takers.

Would have to believe at least Freeze would take the job, even if others might shy away. Still . . .

Now now, that’s giving Bortles to much credit. They leaned on that Defense and the Fornette long before Bortles was aloud to pass. Even then he had a rising start to catch every wounded duck he threw.
