Pruitt Is Not The Answer

The money we spent on Pruitt

A loss is a loss. Who cares about the margin? To suggest that Pruitt is somehow less than Dooley is just incredibly stupid. Dooley inherited a better situation talent wise and never had a winning season. Pruitt got to 8 wins and a bowl game in his second season, which BTW, is also better than Jones. There is no comparison with Dooley and Pruitt, Pruitt is clearly better and while the jury is still out a bit on the Jones-Pruitt comparison I would still take Pruitt over Jones any day.

For those above that would interpret this as unabashedly pro-Pruittism, I can assure you it's not. I'm just saying Pruitt is still IMO the best we have had since Fulmer (not counting Kiffin's one year) of coaches who actually stuck it out.

If he ends up not being so great, it just means we have only marginally improved with each hire. But I see a big difference between Pruitt and Dooley and an improvement over Jones.

Yeah the Dabo thing is wearing thin.

A better comparison for the argument of longevity and patience, would be Mark Stoops....

But Mark Stoops develops talent, and does more with less...

So like nevermind.

I guess I'm not understanding where your trying to go. You are comparing our program with Kentucky?

Lsu and Bama both ran through coaches every two , three years.

At that time, during the 80s and 90s, salaries were not overly inflated to the level they are now. Back then, entering the coaching search pool wasn't as devastating to your recruiting and financial standing as it is in today's economy.

The Pass Defense is so damn bad! Our corners and DB’s aren’t ever in position or able to make reads and we make every QB look like a Heisman candidate. DB’s are supposed to be CJP’s specialty. He’s supposed to be like an Oracle or something and they stink to high heavens. Why is that? I’ll hang up and listen.

Take the best 25 options and don't even consider them.

Take the next 25 and shave that list down to the last 5. Don't offer them anymore $ than they are making.

Grab 25 more names pull one out of the hat and hope they ll take it.

Overall record in first 30 games:

Dooley: 13-17
Jones: 14-16
Pruitt: 15-15

I'm not of the opinion he needs to be fired but there is something missing. It's like the team has no identity. Cannot recover when down. Everyone seems miserable?

Dabo was 18-12 in his first 30 starts. In the ACC no less.

Well the good news is that Lyle's gravy train is coming to an end so frees up some money lol. I am curious as to what old Lyle will do once that last paycheck comes in? Lord knows that clown doesn't live within his means and 35K coaches assistant gig isn't going to be buying him any new AMG's. No DIV 1 school will touch him now.

I believe CJP knows football, he may not know D1 SEC coaching yet, he better learn fast, and he better get a cadre of coordinators and assistants to help him learn or he's putting his career in jeopardy

This is completely theoretical. I’m not saying that Pruitt is/isn’t the answer. If a billion dollars hit the AD next week, I’m not even sure we could get out of our way and get it right. I’m just bored and stuck at my in-laws. If you were the AD and could land a coach not named Meyer or Stoops, who would it be?
We'll see, when he resigns, or his current extension runs out. Start looking now, Phil! This guy isn't working!

it was rumoured during the coaching search fiasco that Jason Witten reached out and said he wanted the job. I’d say give it to an alum like that who actually cares about the program and hope for the best
