Phil is interested...

Love, drive, and similar emotions have no bearing on the day to day tasks of running a major athletic department. Why anyone would want Phil is mind boggling.

The guy was fired for being ineffective as a coach. Now you want him in a larger roll?

BC we want UT to be UT.

The same way Meyer went from winning with Tebow to how his team was last yr. Im sure it was not expected

Meyer's been coaching awhile. He's had one mediocre year after massive roster attrition. Phil lost seven games with a starting lineup that averaged over four years of experience. If the players were the problem in 2008, then Phil obviously can't find or develop players anymore.

i don't know about athletic director......but, when fulmer sings, it's like a combination of fergie and jesus

Read the article. I'm not sure how anyone can get upset at anything Phil said in that article. The process is exactly where I said it was this morning. Phil is not sure he is interested; he will not be annoited as AD.

Nah. Thats a nice way of saying he knows they aren't interested. He wants, we all know that. Im sure he would like a chance to turn it down, but wouldn't

That Gang of Five though thoroughly believe they are at one with the "30,000" when really, they are WAY outside the supermajority. And they get taken behind the woodshed regularly, to the point of being pitiable even.

I haven't read the article, but from the snippets I've seen, sounds like exactly what I said this morning. Phil should be the first to get an interview, but he should not be annoited AD. Sounds like he needs to discuss it with the UT family and decide if he wants the job.

BS, he's sucking up to them as we speak, and if they offered he would have an orgasm trying to accept before someone gets smart and jerks the paperwork away from him. NOONE wamts him as a coach or AD. Period. dot. except for the Foolmer lovers. This is not the govt where we take the ones who can't perform and promote them after being fired. We've all probably seen how they can promote incompetence to the next level/pay gade to supposedly pass their problem on to someone else rather than gather the Khunas to deal with the problem directly.

If we want someone who truly loves Tennessee, then we hire Fulmer as the new AD.

If we can hire someone that left for our enemy as AD(Dickey), then we surely can hire someone that loves the university as much as Coach Fulmer does.

Spock would vote for Fulmer too. Seems logical.

FAIL......love doesn't run a business, and weak attempt at humor

Ill use UF again. How they beat bama in SECCG then turned around and lost the next. Did Meyer not develop his players? Its the fact they got outplayed. You cant do it every time man

I don't think who we hire will make a huge difference one way or the other unless we literally go out there and hire Trig Palin.

But damn, you guys would make seeing Fulmer made AD and the Emperor for Life of Tennessee almost worth it.

Didn’t I read on GoVolsXtra or somewhere that an big donor spoke anonymously that they would be searching outside the UT family?

Are you serious? Saban developed a much better team from 2008 to 2009. That's why the Gators lost.

And "you can't do it every time" doesn't work for a decade of failure. I can't have sex with a super model every night. I can't bench press 800 pounds every time.

Clawson was the problem in '08...
it's really evident regardless oi the metrics you want to use

the most obvious being offensive productivity under his reighn, and second is wins and losses

And a guy Phil employed at the second highest level of football coaching for seven years was the problem in 2005. The man is a managerial genius.

I don't see why this point doesn't end the discussion. Okay, maybe Dave Clawson was a terrible offensive coordinator and a dreadful hire. But it was Fulmer's duty to find the right guy when he should have known his job was on the line.

Sanders and the whole 2005 season were Phil's mulligans.
