Phil is interested...

Why anyone would suggest someone as unqualified, and obviously divisive, for this position and at this time......is completely beyond me.

That decision would be a complete and utter disaster.

I'm not yet over how he oversaw the implosion of the football program. I hold him, at least partially responsible for everything we've experienced as a fanbase for the last 5 years. I don't want my feelings to be reinforced even further, because I want to get back to respecting and appreciating his accomplishments. Handing him control of the entire Athletic Department is not a way to restore his legacy.

We need an experienced, professional, and successful AD with a mind for business.

Unfortunately we'll probably get Phil.

I never insulted you. I believe you did that to me first the other day, homie.

LOL@ you knowing where you stand, but in all seriousness, its not my style. If I did, it was a reply to something directed at me. Us debating as fans is fine. But ppl here get mad and try to break others down when one don't see eye to eye with them. It's really sad some so called fans bash Fulmer. Out of over 200 games he won 152. Back to back titles. A NC. And when some of his staff jump ship and he stays and tries to put it back together, all he has done is forgotten and he is labeled a has been, who ain't worthy of nothing. He is human, he made a mistake on a hire, but it was not that alone. IIRC our players played like chit that yr. too. Everyone started questioning him when the QB controversy started. He was stuck in panic mode with everything going on. Then when UF had Leak and Tebow it mad Meyer look like a genius, but without them look what happened. Its the players too, not just the coach that makes a difference. My point is its not always going to go as expected no matter who you are, bad things are bound to happen. Thats why the games are played. To find out. With the right players PF would have been fine. Dont say he couldn't recruit, or develop players anymore. Its always a gamble and some dont live up to the hype

If we want someone who truly loves Tennessee, then we hire Fulmer as the new AD.

If we can hire someone that left for our enemy as AD(Dickey), then we surely can hire someone that loves the university as much as Coach Fulmer does.

Spock would vote for Fulmer too. Seems logical.

Everyone in this thread is now dumber for having read this post. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Not like it was Phil's job to make sure they played their hardest or anything...

Of course he is interested, if UT shares the same interest, I will start to question my allegiance to the University.

I promise you mine will not be in question and I will have better things to do on Saturdays.

Unfortunately, love is not a requirement for the job, at least not one that breds success. Not like knowing what the hell you are doing.

I would prefer a man that has a law degree and a business sense over a guy who was fired from his job a few years back and has remained unemployed since.

Yes because every coach is a puppet master, who pulls the strings of the players on the field that makes them: Make throws, catches, tackles, blocks, kicks etc

notwithstanding all the intangibles fulmer doesn't have that would make him a good AD for UTK...

why would anyone want an AD who, as TFHFCAUTK, proved time and again that he is loathe to fire those under him who are in desperate need of firing?

When the entire team plays like chit, as you so aptly put it, it's time to look at who's supposedly in charge.

Let it be know

If you dont agree with a certain group of people in here you are ALWAYS going to be WRONG and labeled an idiot, who lives in a trailer park who uses dating sites to find women. They know it all because they avg. 60 posts a day.

That Gang of Five though thoroughly believe they are at one with the "30,000" when really, they are WAY outside the supermajority. And they get taken behind the woodshed regularly, to the point of being pitiable even.

I haven't read the article, but from the snippets I've seen, sounds like exactly what I said this morning. Phil should be the first to get an interview, but he should not be annoited AD. Sounds like he needs to discuss it with the UT family and decide if he wants the job.

Supermajority, like the 20% of a two choice poll?

I wouldn't switch teams, but I won't donate and won't attend any games if he is made AD as a form of boycott.

I don't hate him and appreciate what he did while he was here, but I just want him to $@#%ing fade away at this point and enjoy his damn retirement.

If he laid low for about 5 years, all would be forgiven and I think most fans that wanted him gone would welcome him back as an ambassador for the University. However, with him hanging around, he's directly contributing to the divisiness.

Just like he decided he didn't want the Louisville job.
