NO, it's not. You can't negotiate on behalf of other clients when negotiating on another client's deal. Highly unethical and maybe even criminal. Even as slimy as Sexton is, he wouldn't do that and UT would not be a party to it.

What if... We get Gruden, but he only agrees to come for one year. Then the “head coach in waiting” would take over. Possibly a coordinator with no HC experience that would shadow Gruden as an assistant HC for the first year.

While nothing is outside the realm of remote possibility... what kind of situation would that even be? I’d rather go all in on an another elite coach than donaome weird scenario where he coaches one year.

Read his post... is plan a and plan b, or your scenario more likely. No need to overthink it.

I would not be pleased with those names. I don’t think they will give us what we need. I think we need a statement hire to show we mean business.

Ok so following this logic, will Gruden be in town to host recruits on Saturday? What would be the harm... our game is at 4:00 and as long as he’s signed just not announced what would it disturb the connected assistants?

Maybe it’s just me, but Vegas has Gruden as the clear front runner and almost 2/1 over Mullen. Why does this carry no weight with the media? Vegas isn’t in the business of losing money or being wrong.

Vegas is in the business of risk management. It adjusts odds based on bet weighting, it does NOT bet on what is going to happen. If you think odds reflect reality, it is because of sharps or the masses, not some Vegas insiders.
